The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region
The region has a charm which caters for all tastes. It offers an extremely rugged coastline yet lots of beautiful beaches like in Denia and the lovely protected cove in Javea all washed with the clear and pleasant mediterranean. The Montgo Natural Park (Known as the Sleeping Elephant) lies between Denia and Javea and is felt to contribue to the specially mild climate in the area which enjoys in excess of 320 sunshine days per year. The old town of Javea has an interesting historical centre dating back to Moors. The narrow streets house tosca porticoes, gothic windows, and make for an interesting stroll through the narrow winding alleys. The Fortress church of San Bartome is an example of late gothic with a defensive character, which you can admire from the street cafe opposite and experience "real" Spain.
Javea / Costa Nova area
The Javea area is truely an area for all tastes. The beutiful old moorish town yearns to be explored. The lovely coves in the rugged coastline (great for snorkelling). The beautiful white crescent shaped "Arenal beach" which is a safe and sandy beach with the beach side cafes and bars is perfect for families. In addition there are lovely walking treks (at all levels) on the Montgo and in the surrounding Natural Park.
The port of Javea is still a working fishing port and provides a mixture of fishing vessels, luxury yachts and sea-front bars, cafes and restaurants. It leads to the shopping area and the old town which slightly set back from the sea. it is a lovely old area with narrow streets full of real Spanish charm.
In the port area you will find Javea's sailing club "Club Nautico" and the Javea sailing school. For Scuba divers there are lots of opportunites to really explore the clear mediterranean waters and see the marine life.
Golf is available at the Club de Golf Javea (10 minutes drive), and the Club de Golf La Sella (15 minutes drive). Both have a swimming pool, squash and tennis courts as well as bar and restaurant facilities.
There are numerous tennis courts in the area, some just a few hundred meters from the villa. There is also a tennis club near the Arenal beach.
Bicycles can be rented in the port area, and there is also a very good local cycling club who welcome visitors.
There is live music all-year round but Javea's nightlife really takes off in July and August when there is non-stop nighttime entertainment, mainly based around the Arenal beach to keep the young - and the young at heart - happy until the early hours. Many of the bars and restaurants also offer live music and shows, including Flamenco evenings.
Depending upon what time of year you intend to visit you may well get a chance to enjoy a real Spanish fiesta. One of the most spectacular fiestas in Javea is the Fogueres de Saint Joan in mid-June. This goes on for several days culminating in the burning of a huge papier mache effigy (a satirical representation of current political and social issues) in the Old Town.
Visit in mid-July and you will catch the elaborate Moors and Christians fiestas with colourful (and noisy!) sreet parades in the port.
In the first week of September there are yet more fiestas in the port in honour of the Virgin del Loreto. The streets will be full of running bulls, firecrackers, bands, parades, and fireworks.
Or you can just lay out on the sunbed by the pool and enjoy the peaceful surrounds of the villa and read your book. A true venue for everyone.

Javea has so much going for it; although it is cosmopolitan it is still Spanish without a high rise package tour hotel in sight. There are a number of distinct parts of Javea; the old town, the marina area, Arenal beach and Cap de la Nao.
Cap de la Nao, at the southern tip of Javea is a local beauty spot with its light house, nature reserve and cliffs. It is a very green and sought after area, within walking distance of our Villa
Javea is described by the World Health Authority as one of the most healthy places to live due to it's combination of mountain/sea air. Three dimensional with the old town, port, and beach it truely offers everything
There is a coastal mountain range (snowcapped from time to time during the winter months) which gives way to olive and almond groves and cherry orchards on the lower slopes. The coastal plain is mainly cultivated with orange and lemon plantations.
The climate is generally mild, Javea enjoys in excess of 320 sunshine days per year. The summer months benefit from a cooling onshore breeze and the winters are very mild, the coast being protected to a large extent by the mountain range.
The cuisine is another major bonus, with (affordable) good food available everywhere, as well as more expensive restaurants offering haute cuisine. Excellent local produce can be found at the markets for those wishing to self-cater.
