Further details indoors: The property is on two levels, with external, separate access to the lower level. All bedrooms have either shower or bathroom en suite. The family areas are very spacious. The main entrance to the upper level is through the front door to a small lobby and then in to the large lounge. This features beautiful old wooden beams, a huge stone fireplace and handmade terracotta floors. Double doors go through to a small "snug" off which are the two bedrooms. One with full bathroom en suite and one with shower room en suite. Off the other side of the lounge double doors go out to a glazed sun room. This is comfortably furnished, and also serves as the dining room. Doors lead out from this sun room to the huge open terrace surrounding the pool. There is a well equipped kitchen off the lounge, and also a separate cloakroom near the front door (easily accessed from the pool terrace). Entrance to the downstairs accommodation is through beautiful old doors to the lounge. This features fabulous old beams rescued from a castle in Castile. The terracota tiles on the floors are interspersed with lovely hand painted 'tacos'. An arch goes through to the large kitchen. This simply has to be seen to be appreciated! The walls are tiled with wonderful hand painted tiles, an exact copy of an 18th century kitchen (the original is in a museum in Madrid). This large kitchen is very well equipped, including an indoor barbecue, and a large table for family meals. The three bedrooms downstairs all have en suite bathroom (or shower room), and are furnished with antique beds (with modern bases and mattresses!). All the doors and beams in this lower area are antique, and have been rescued from demolition sites throughout Spain. The furnishings are also largely Spanish antiques.
Further details outdoors: Outside the gardens are beautifully tended, featuring lawns and numerous flowers, shrubs and palms. The big swimming pool has a large open terrace, with views towards Cabo San Antonio and glimpses of Jávea bay. The barbecue area is a delight, with a traditional barbecue and an unusual wood burning oven. This is all under an attractive pergola covered with creepers. This is all conveniently close to the kitchen. There are big terraces around the pool, with lovely views. The property is fenced and gated for privacy and security.
