Home description

Description of the Holiday Villa

For nature lovers this is a park area with many winding paths which in 15 minutes take you to the beach. Alternatively, by car, Javea and its beaches, bars and shops is just 5 minutes away. The rear of the property overlooks much of Javea but yet is not overlooked itself, and enjoys catching the stunning evening sunsets over the mountains which separate Javea and Moraira.

The property is in a tranquil area and set in lush gardens with pine trees with a beautiful terraced pool. There are exterior stairs which lead down from the upstairs balcony to the newly refurbished 3 bedroom downstairs apartment which is fully self-contained and has its own courtyard.

Ground Floor

At the front of the villa is an open leafy naya with a selection of furniture, ideal for relaxing with a good book and a glass of wine. From here a large wooden door leads into the spacious lounge/diner. There is a stone fireplace, satellite TV, surround sound DVD system (for both music and film entertainment), comfortable sofas and a dining area.

The kitchen features rustic wooden units, oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer and a selection of general kitchen equipment. Doors from here lead out to the upstairs balcony with its extensive views and selection of patio furniture.

Bedroom 1: 2 Single Beds, bedroom furniture and en-suite shower room and doors which lead onto the upper balcony.

Bedroom 3: Twin beds and bedroom furniture.
Bedroom 4: Twin beds and bedroom furniture.

Lower Ground Floor

Separate self-contained apartment with large doors leading from the courtyard area to lounge/diner area. The kitchen has a hob and oven, fridge freezer, washing machine and a selection of general kitchen equipment.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

Javea has been voted 'environmentally near perfect' by the World Health Organisation and boasts 320 days of sunshine a year! Javea is situated on the most easterly point of mainland Spain at the northern end of the Costa Blanca, approximately 100kms from Valencia and 90 kms from Alicante - Valencia with its historic buildings, museums and wonderful shopping centres is only 1 hour away. The coastline has scenic rocky coves, wonderful beaches and dramatic cliffs.

For the younger members of your party, Benidorm`s Terra Mitica (40 mins away) theme park is a must. You will also find Aqualandia and Mundomar here.

At Gata de Gorgos (8km) you will find what the local craft industries have to offer - palm leaf, rattan and wickerwork articles.


Javea / Portichol area

Javea can be divided into three main areas - the Old Town, the Port and the Arenal.
* Old Town
This is the ancient town centre steeped in medieval history which has largely been preserved throughout the centuries. Here you can wander through the maze of narrow streets and small plazas. The Gothic fortified church of San Bartolome dominates the centre of the town. This building dates back to the 15th century, half religious half military. At the side of the church is a beautiful Neo Gothic building which houses the indoor market where you can buy local fresh produce daily. The colourful outdoor market takes place every Thursday in the market place.
* The Port
This was originally a fishing community but has now become one of the main tourist centres of the town. Here amongst the modern buildings you will find the ancient quarters of narrow streets with the simple whitewashed fishermen's houses. It is a lively bustling area with many shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Just the place to sit and sample the local wines whilst watching the fishing boats bringing in the day's catch. From the heart of the port rises the majestic structure of the church of Our Lady of Loreto with a roof which imitates the hull of a ship. The modern Nautical Club at the marina has facilities for all forms of water sports.
* The Arenal
Javea`s blue flag beach where the shore gently slopes into the warm sea. The promenade has a number of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants providing a variety of food to suit all tastes. During the evening in the Summer months, you will find various stalls here selling a variety of handmade crafts. Many of the bars have live music and there are several discotheques for those who like to dance the night away. There are also several scenic coves nearby. Granadella with its crystal clear waters is a favourite for scuba diving and snorkelling as is Portichol. There is even a naturist beach at Ambolo.

Activities
Nearly every kind of water sport is catered for in Javea, and for those who don't want to get their feet wet there is golf, bowls, tennis, cycling, horse riding and hiking to name but a few.

There are three - one in each area of Javea, will have details of nearby places of interest. Be sure to check if there are any fiestas taking place during your stay as these are always well worth a visit.
