Basically a very nice cottage with potential, set in beautiful countryside in a small village. However minor irritations - swimming pool, in full sun with sunshades that were inadequate. Towels not su… More

We are so glad that you enjoyed our gite accommodation and had a lovely holiday. You much appreciated the complimentary pizzas and wedges we cooked for your late arrival at 9.30pm, and your son more than enjoyed the ice cold beer we gave him!

To answer and comment on the points raised:-

The heated pool terrace has four parasols, more than adequate we feel for the number of sun loungers. The parasols also have a tilting mechanism to adjust to shade from the sun. They can also be moved to anywhere on the pool terrace.

Our advert on all our websites clear states that pool towels are not provided. We even had to bring this to your attention after we saw your children with our white Egyptian bath towels thrown around on the lawn. Again this is mentioned in our guest welcome pack that bath towels are not to be taken out of the property. I 'm sure you must agree that this is to keep them in their brilliant white pristine condition for other guests.

The pool is amble size for the number of guests we can accommodate, plus it is never is use all day, every day by each and every guest.

As you will see from previous reviews our children are well behaved, I can only assume that your headache was caused by your children playing in the pool with our boys.

Not quite sure what you expect, but again our advert doesn't actually mention 'Children's Play Area', but we do provide swings, pool inflatables, sand pit, football net, basketball net, racquets and balls, table football and pool table, much more than most people would expect from a gite complex.

The outdoor eating was discussed with you on arrival, as the table and chairs could be in front of the property or moved to the garden area. You were more than happy to leave it where it was.

I can assure you that all appliances were working and that they are all checked prior to all guests arriving. So we cannot understand this point!

There is a choice of board games, a selection of books, DVD's, CD's and playing cards and UNO. More than amble choice of entertainment.

There are amble electric sockets in every room in the property, also we do provide UK/ French adaptors if you only asked. Again this in mentioned in the guest welcome pack.

If safety was your main concern, then why did we have to bring to your attention on numerous occasions that your children were around the pool unsupervised? This is clearly stated in the pool rules, displayed at the pool and in the welcome pack. The windows on the 2nd storey do have window locks and these were taken off at your daughter-in-laws request to allow more ventilation into the bedroom.

Stair gates were not requested, but I would have thought that your children aged 9 and 6 would be old enough to manage the stairs safely!

The gas cooker is less than a year old and I do have receipts for all appliances in the gite. I can ensure you that all safety issues are of upmost importance to us, and we have clarified all concerns with our insurance company AXA. The insurance certificate is displayed to you in our welcome pack.

This gite does have a double sofa bed in the dining room on the ground floor, maybe this room would have been more suitable for your needs.

We are really glad you enjoyed you stay in our gite. Maybe if you could have discussed any of your concerns whilst actually staying with us then we would have had a chance to address these. But nothing was ever mentioned during your stay and in fact you didn't even fill-in our guest questionnaire which enables us to review our accommodation and improve our service.

"Fantastic holiday, all you could wish for."

Having travelled to this region of France before, we were still surprised by what a lovely setting our gite was in, Fabulous unspoiled views of the surrounding countryside one way, and a charming picture postcard village the other. Inside the gite we had another surprise, the pictures on the web site didn't do it justice, the rooms are lovely, with masses of space, which really helped, as we were a party of seven adults and only two children. The beds were really comfy, and we had lovely fluffy White bath towels.

On arrival we had a lovely welcome by the owners Bryan and Jane, who had made us homemade Pizza and wedges, also a welcome basket, that had some basic supply's, which always helps. What I found really helpful was that the gite had initial supply's of toilet rolls, washing up liquid and cleaning products.

During our stay we were lucky to have amazing weather and were able to utilise the pool often, I must say the pool was really lovely, as it wasn,t a salt water pool, like you find in some French gites, not forgetting that it overlooks an amazing view. The pool is shared with the owners and the other gite, but for us this was an advantage, as we were able to spend some lovely evenings with Bryan and Jane and our two children loved playing with theirs.

We all enjoyed our Holiday at Meadow View, for a party with ages ranging from 76 to 7 including an older teenager, I think we hit the jackpot, and will definitely be returning next year.

Thank You Bryan and Jane

"Wonderful Cottage, Lovely Area, Great Owners, Fantastic Holiday"

We received warm welcome from the owners Jane & Bryan, and the complementary pizzas & potato wedges they made for our arrival was an incredible gesture and took the pressure off cooking on our first night after the drive down.

The gite was a lot larger than we expected and the photos on the website don't do it any justice, it is by far more outstanding and with all the equipment and comfort that is needed for a two week family holiday.

The pool and terrace area was breath-taking, with amazing views across the rural countryside. The kids love splashing in the pool and it was very refreshing to cool off, on the very hot sunny days.

The garden was all fenced off, so was very safe for the children and there was plenty for the kids to do with the trampoline, sandpit and swings. Jane and Bryan even provided a baby swing for our toddler which we felt was a very thoughtful touch.

The various lakes with the beaches in the area provided the children with enjoyment and it just goes to show that you don't need the go to the coast to build sandcastles! The towns and villages we visited gave us a wide insight in the French life. We had some lovely meals out and the 'plat de jours' give a taste of French cuisine and are extremely good value for money.

The location is very relaxing and it's the ideal holiday to unwind and take time out to enjoy a good book and spend time with the family.

We would definitely recommend this gite to our friends and family, and we have already booked for August.

its all Perfick! As Pa Larkin would say from the Darling buds of May. From Start to finish everything was great!

We got a friendly and genuine welcome from Brian, Jane and their children. A lovely welcome drink or two as well, which was a nice touch. We were home from home before you could say cheese and wine.

The Property was clean, tidy and very well presented. Everything we needed was in the property and on the one occasion it wasn't Brian sorted it for us almost immediately.

There isn't anything bad I can say about this place. The Property was excellent, Brian and Jane were lovely, the area is beautiful with lots to explorer and do. If I was being really picky then maybe a larger flat screen TV would of been nice for movies in the evening but I'm told this is being done anyway.

We had our three small children with us. They loved the swimming pool and garden with lots for them to do.

We will be returning soon. Many thanks Brian and Jane.
