The Asturias region

This surprisingly green and mountainous area sports clean, guarded sandy beaches, exciting coastal towns, fiestas to die for and then just venture in land to vistas and mountains that take your breath away.

Valencia and Alicante can be visited easily by train that follow the coast and offer shopping , marinas and theatres.Visit Benidorm and spend a night at the spectacular Benidorm Palace ( similar to the Follies Bergere.)

Most towns in the region are flooded with history, magnificent churches and tradition.

Travel from top to bottom of the area is made easy by the motorway A7

Fiestas throughout the region celebrate saints days or depict the struggle between the moors and christians, always colorful, exciting and happy. Fireworks are an every day event!

Jalon

.

A market takes place on Tuesdays with general produce, clothes and vegetables, whilst Jalon is visited by coachloads to see the ' tinkers market,' ( rastro ) on a Saturday. Most local restaurants have live music, dancing and flamenco shows.

On fiestas days there is paella and beer for all.

The local bodiga has prized wines that can be tasted at your leisure and the oranges and fruits are availble , fresh from the fields every day .

"Relaxing with local wine over breathtaking mountain views!"

We stayed at Casa Quijote with our two children aged 7 & 9 and loved every day of it. In fact, we enjoyed it so much we asked Gail if we could stay on for longer :) Gail is a warm, kind and thoughtful… More

"Fantastic!! Cant wait to go back next year!!"

We stayed at the lovely Casa Quijote in September 2012.
The host and hostess Richard & Gail made us feel really welcome (what a really lovely couple) They get the balance just right of being helpful and also ensuring that you have privacy. Paul and I loved their beautiful well equipped apartment which was literally short of nothing, with everything and more than you could possibly need. We was so relaxed and chilled out by the end of the week we wished we had booked a fortnight!
The lovely local town has a laid-back charm and the people are very friendly. There are plenty places nearby to visit if looking for a little more entertainment.
Thank you Gail & Richard and looking forward to next year!

"A lovely stay in a wonderful apartment"

Gail and Richard are fantastic hosts always there to offer help and advice but never intrusive in any way. The apartment is fantastic with much more on offer than the usual hoilday let. It is really like being in a very comfortable home with the added luxury of a pool outside the bedroom.
The town itself is within walking distance with plenty of restaurants and bars and it is central to any travelling around the beautiful area. Close enough to the busy beach areas if you want them but in rural Spain with all its glorious countryside and local markets.
I really cant recommend it enough.

"Perfect Accomodation"

The pictures on this website don't do Casa Quijote justice. The bedroom/lounge is huge and extremely well furnished. The king size bed is the most comfortable I've slept in and comes complete with an electric blanket, the two rocking chairs are perfect for watching the LCD tv. The patio doors open onto the furnished terrace and swimming pool (table, chairs and sunloungers, even a telescope for star gazing) and, even though we stayed in February, we were able to sit out and take in the amazing views of the valley. The spacious kitchen/diner is clean, tidy and well equiped, as is the shower room.

Richard and Gail are the perfect hosts, they have taken a lot of pride in their studio and nothing was too much trouble for them, recommending restaurants and days out, helping us with our search for property, even meeting for coffee in the village.

This was the third time we'd stayed in Jalon and Casa Quijote is by far the best value for money accomodation that we've found. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends and family and will most certainly stay there again.
