Iznajar is set in a beautiful area of La Subbetica and sits on lake lake of Iznajar (Embalsede Iznajar) which is 20km long.
Casa de Lago is a perfect base for exploring this region of Andalucia and its historic cities.
Seville 90 minutes, Granada 45 minutes, Cordoba 90 minutes additionally stunning villages and towns of the region offer historic insights into the area. Antequera, Arcidona, Priego de cordoba, Alhamba
Iznajar now offers an ideal setting for those wanting to live in and experience the real taste of Spain but still retain a 'sea' view.
The Iznajar area
Dating back to the 8th century Iznajar is an unspoiled, traditional white walled, red roofed village. Sitting above the lake of Iznajar there are spectacular views over the lake where you can enjoy a variety of activities including water-sports and fishing.
The nearby beach on the lake is ideal for swimming or if you feel a little more adventurous you can rent pedalos and canoes, and learn to sail (and possibly other water sports). Sundays is busy but is very quiet during the week, even in the height of the season. The water is beautiful to swim in, the bathing is safe and the beach has sand to lie on or for children to play in.
Whatever you do with your time here, you can be certain that you will not want to leave. So come and explore the region and enjoy meeting real Spanish people.
