Home description

Casa Feliz is set amidst it's own olive grove and in an area of outstanding beauty it is detached and a perfect place for a quiet retreat or to discover the delights of Andalucia and only 5 minutes from Iznajar town with it's cobbled streets, cafes, bars and restaurants.

The house has it's own full size pool set within the vine terrace where there is a table and chairs for al fresco dining. Below the pool there is a large split level sun terrace with wonderful views over the lake and valley. All of the terraces have soft lighting making them a perfect place to enjoy an evening drink whilst listening to the cicadas or looking at the stars.

The Inland Andalucia / Cordoba Province region

We are set in an area of natural outstanding beauty call "La Subbetica" with it's hillsides covered with olive groves and Iznajar Lake (Embalse de Iznajar) stretching over 20 km from Rute and Iznajar to Loja.

Casa Feliz is a great base for sightseeing, Only 1-1/2 hours to Cordoba and the famous Arabian Mosque (La Mezquita) or the beautiful city of Seville 2hrs drive. Granada and `La Alhambra' is only 1 hour away and then just another 1/2 hour to the International skiing resort of Sierra Nevada. Why not try bathing for free in the hot spring water rock pools at Alhama de Granada only 45minutes away plus a visit to it's beautiful historic town?


Iznajar area

The local village of Iznajar ( pronounced Ith-nak-ar) is just a 5 minute drive away with it's steep cobbled streets, ancient castle and churches, plus a selection of quaint shops tucked away amidst the houses. There is also a local medical centre, shop, banks, bars and restaurants in the town, plus a more varied selection of restaurants just a short drive away.
Iznajar also has it's own beach on the lake where you can swim. fish or hire pedaloes and enjoy a drink or meal in the restaurant/bar by the beach.

During your stay at Casa Feliz why not have a painting lesson with the villa owner Michael Bernasconi?
A two hour lesson in watercolours for beginners for one or two people can be booked on arrival.

Michael also has his own gallery in the converted water tower at the entrance to Casa Feliz where you are welcome to view his paintings.

The house has three bedrooms. The master bedroom with large balcony has a queensize bed and luxury en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom is twin bedded with en-suite w.c. and washing facilities and it's own balcony. The third bedroom is on the ground floor with twin beds (which on request can be made up as a large double) it has double doors leading onto the vine terrace. All of the bedrooms are comfortably furnished with wardrobes, bedside cabinets and dressing tables.
The open plan lounge with modern woodburning stove leads onto the dining area and well fitted kitchen which in turn leads into the utility area and family bathroom with large shower cubicle.

Further details outdoors:
A door from the living area leads onto a walled courtyard at the rear, with bench seating and pergola. The front door leads onto the enclosed vine terrace with table and chairs for shady al fresco dining, the full size pool is also on this terrace. Below the pool there is a split level sun terrace with wonderful views over the surrounding valley and lake.

The terraces are well equipped with sunbeds, parasols tables and chairs and a large gas barbecue.

The property is detached and set in beautiful gardens and our guests often comment on the beautiful smells of Lavender, Rosemary and Jasmine when they arrive

There is a large parking area at the front of the house.


Further details

Our bookings are from Saturday to Saturday but we are more flexible on this out of high season.
Short breaks a minimum of 3 days are available out of season.

We require a deposit of £200.00 per week when booking your holiday with the balance payable 8 weeks prior to the commencement of your holiday.

On confirmation of your booking we shall send our holiday information sheet with directions from airports and surrounding areas.

To allow us sufficient time to clean and prepare the house we ask that your arrival on your start date is 4.00pm or later and that the property is vacated by 10.00.am on your departure date.

One week prior to your arrival it would help us if you could give an estimated time of arrival.

Bed linen, bathroom towels, tea towels, and pool towels are supplied.
Bed linen and pool towels are changed weekly and bathroom towels twice weekly.

Gas/electric/water (logs in winter) are all included in the rental price.

Casa Feliz carries a NO SMOKING policy INSIDE THE HOUSE

Our own house is adjacent to Casa Feliz where we are on hand to give any help or advice that may be required, but, we are always careful on to intrude on your privacy.
