The Inland Andalucia / Cordoba Province region
A visit to Spain is about sun, great cuisine, and a warm welcome. The autonomous region of Andalucia lies in the the south of Spain, and its coasts are bathed by both the Mediterranean and Atlantic oceans.
The climate in the autonomous region of Andalucia is dominated by a Mediterranean climate. The summers a are very hot while the winters are short. The rainfall except in autumn is low, (less than 700mm).
Iznajar area
Iznajar is a unspoiled, traditional white walled, red roofed village of Iznajar, with its castle dating from the 8th century and church from the 16th century, has spectacular views over a 32 km long lake which hosts a variety of water-sports and fishing.
The nearby beach: Valdearenas is on the lake where you can swim, rent pedalos and canoes, and learn to sail (and possibly other water sports). It tends to be busier on Sundays but is very quiet during the week, even in the height of the season. The water is beautiful to swim in, the bathing is safe and the beach has sand to lie on or for children to play in.

The further end of the kitchen goes through an archway (see photo) into the sitting area. Here there is a comfortable 3 seater settee and 2 arm chairs. The TV is satellite "free to view" and has a DVD. Internet connect is available on request. The staircase to upstairs is situated between the kitchen and the dining area. There is a door that takes you out onto you own balcony overlooking the gardens to the front and the spectacular views including the Lake of Andalucia. The owners have placed a table and chairs here so you can enjoy the view at leisure. The other bedroom is across the other side of the staircase and has 2 single beds plus wardrobe space. The walls are very thick to ensure that the cottage is kept cool, but should you feel the need, fans are available. All rooms have been tastefully decorated with splashes of vibrant colours here and there, traditional wall hangings together with the occasional old wooden farm implement on the outside walls.
Further details outdoors: There is a lovely sheltered patio area just outside the front door with table and chairs and BBQ, and plenty of room to sit in the sun to catch up on the tan. The lovely circular pool is to the front of the property and is suitable for all ages to take a refreshing dip but not for diving.
