The villa has everything to offer for a truly authentic Spanish holiday with 5 bedrooms (2 en-suites), mod cons, breakfast bar, free wifi & air conditioning. Situated in the heart of town, you are only a 2-min walk to bars, restaurants, shops, playground & lakeside picnic area
Casa La Laguna is situated right on the Iznájar lake and is a beautiful, renovated detached villa with a newly built private swimming pool, terraces, al fresco dining area, two barbeques, plenty of room for sunbathing and spectacular views of the stunning Iznájar lake
The villa has everything to offer for a truly authentic Spanish holiday with five bedrooms (two with en-suite shower rooms), a family bathroom, a stunning large living room with views of the lake, and a modern kitchen with dishwasher and breakfast bar. There is also a utility room with two fridges and a freezer and a washing machine in the basement. We offer free wifi and provide a laptop in case you don't have one, as well as a printer so you can print your return boarding pass. We have air conditioning for the hot months and heating for the cooler months

The living accommodation and outside terraces, including swimming pool area are situated over one floor, so the villa is suitable for wheelchair users, although there are a couple of small steps when accessing the outside area, so a little assistance may be required. The villa is suitable for children as you can easily make it secure to ensure children are unable to access the road or terraces without the help of an adult. Please ensure you watch children at all times when they are outside by the private swimming pool
On your arrival in Iznájar, you will be met by our english speaking property manager, who will check you in to the villa. Our normal check in time is between 4pm and 10pm, with check out at 10am. We are very flexible on arrival days, so long as you are with us for a minimum of seven nights. A welcome pack is provided and included in the rental. A €200 damage deposit is payable (in cash only) to our property manager on arrival at the villa. You are welcome to smoke on the terraces (using the ashtray's provided), but please do not smoke inside the villa. If you smoke in the villa, then you authorise us to charge €150 from your security deposit to ensure the villa is suitable for the next guests. We provide linen and towels and these will be changed on a weekly basis. The villa will be cleaned before and after your visit. If you would like additional cleaning during your stay, this can be arranged at an additional cost of €9 per hour, however you would need to book this in advance. Please be aware that the swimming pool is maintained once a week. Guests should have adequate travel/holiday and personal medical insurance for their whole stay
The town is on a peninsula, surrounded by the lake on three sides and is reached by a bridge stretching over the aqua lake. Iznájar retains all of its Spanish charm with friendly locals and offers traditional shops, a weekly market, a bakery, butchers, several small supermarkets, a hospital, two pharmacies, two churches and plenty of bars and restaurants, all within walking distance of Casa La Laguna. Also situated within walking distance of the villa is the Iznájar castle, which has amazing views of the local area. Within the town the majority of shops, bars and restaurants do not accept credit cards so cash will be required. However, within a few minutes walk of the villa there are four banks with ATM machines
From the villa you can take a short trip (2km) to the beach where you can swim, kayak and sail in the freshwater lake and have lunch or dinner at one of the beach restaurants. A basketball court, tennis court, running track and crazy golf are all near the beach. Within a few minutes walk of the villa there is a shop where you can hire quad bikes, a gym and there are some lovely walks close to the villa. A little further afield you can go hiking, trekking, cycling and horse riding, there is also a golf course within a 30-minute drive and the Sierra Nevada ski slopes are a 60-minute drive from the villa. We can arrange for beauty treatments to take place at the villa, our personal favourite is to enjoy a relaxing massage by the pool! So whether you want to relax by the pool or be a little more energetic, everyone is catered for at Casa La Laguna
The town of Rute is a ten-minute drive away where, as well as stocking up at a major supermarket, you can visit the local chocolate factories for which the town is famous. Another 15 minutes on is the larger town of Lucena for an even wider shopping experience and the famous Cuevas de San Marco (St Mark caves)
There is a daily bus service to the cities of Cordoba and Granada where you can visit the world famous Alhambra Palace and fortress from the 14th century. Or take a trip up the Sierra Nevada Mountains for family-friendly skiing in the winter or mountain biking or hiking in the warmer weather. And coastal beaches are less than an hour away
Although a car is not essential when we get to the villa (as all the bars, shops and restaurants are within walking distance), our preference is to fly to Malaga airport and hire a car. However, if you would rather not hire a car or if you can't drive, you could take a taxi from Granada or Malaga airport and we can help arrange this for you

Iznájar is Spain's best kept secret and where lots of the Spanish spend their holidays.
Beaches and beach bars surround the breathtakingly beautiful lake for a truly Spanish holiday experience, as yet unspoilt, unlike the very British Costa del Sol.
And, yet, Iznájar is just a 45-minute drive from Malaga airport, straight up the A92M. For winter holidaymakers, it is also only an hour's drive to the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountains above Granada. It's the highest ski resort in Europe so you can ski until May. Unbelievably you can sunbathe in the morning by your pool and ski in the afternoon!
Iznájar is a town and municipal area in the province of Córdoba in Andalucía, Southern Spain. It lies on the Genil River approximately 110 km from the provincial capital of Córdoba very close to the borders with both Málaga and Granada provinces at a height of 539 metres above sea level. The municipality covers an area of 136 km² and in 2005 had a population of 4,960 inhabitants, with a population density of 36.5 people per km². The town itself is situated on top of a huge rocky outcropping overlooking the Embalse de Iznájar, the largest lake in the whole of Andalucía, which is frequented throughout the warm season as a beach. The principal economic activity of the area is the cultivation of olives although tourism is increasingly becoming an economic factor.
Iznájar is a classic "pueblo blanco", or white town and is surrounded by its "Aldeas" - sub villages including La Celada, El Higueral, Solerche to name but three. The whole of the area of Iznájar has a vibrant social life with many fiestas celebrated throughout the year - most notably Semana Santa (Easter) and the Fiesta de la Virgen Piedad.
The Moors constructed Iznájar Castle in the 7th century. It kept being reformed until the 15th century. After the Christian conquest, the castle became the habitat of the administrator of the Duque de Sesa, to whom it belonged, until the 19th century. Today the castle is in a dilapidated condition, although it still has a few small towers and walls. The largest tower is called the Torre del Homenaje. The Moors called the castle Hisn Ashar. “Hisn” meant “castle” and “Ashar” meant “happy”. In 1991 the town council bought the castle from its last owners, the Count of Revilla and his family. You can visit the castle from Tuesday to Sunday at 12:30pm by purchasing tickets from the Tourist Information Centre in Iznájar.
The Iznájar dam and reservoir is located in the Genil River, in the Andalucían municipalities of Iznájar, Rute, Loja, Zagra, Cuevas de San Marcos and Algarinejo and occupies land in the provinces of Málaga, Córdoba and Granada. The reservoir belongs to the Hydrographic Confederation of the Guadalquivir (Granada zone) and was inaugurated in 1969 by the Head of the Spanish Estate Francisco Franco. With the construction of this dam about 600 homes were flooded and approximately 2000 people moved out of the area. The type of dam is a Gravity Mixed Plant, has a height of 101m from the bed, a coronation length of 406.89m and a dam volume of 1.396.400 (m3). The main purposes of the dam are protection against flooding of the Genil, to supply the towns, irrigation and electricity.

"A Great Property"
The villa and its position are spectacular. It looks down on a wonderful vista of a massive lake which is difficult to stop gazing at. All seven of our family and friends were easily accommodated in the five bedrooms ,2 on suites and the rest adjacent to a bathroom and toilet. The large pool is situated looking down onto the lake below with plenty of space for lying or reading on the sun.. The villa is a short walk to the town with its shops and restaurants. A car is essential given the nearest airport is Malaga and also to visit the other towns and villages within easy reach of the villa

"Beautiful villa in quaint spanish village"
Set in the hills north of Malaga with views across a stunning lake this beautiful villa is fully equiped to a very high standard. All home comforts with flat screen TV/DVD and games for the kids
Fantastic pool with large terrace overlooking lake
Nightlife is very low key, with a couple of friendly spanish bars within a five minute walk of the villa, serving traditional cusine.
