The Inland Andalucia / Cordoba Province region

This area of inland Andalucia is ideal for exploring all the major cultural destinations. Granada, Cordoba, Seville, Ronda, Antequera, Malaga and the Costa del Sol are all close enough for day trips. A new motorway means that Cordoba is now just an hour and a half away, Seville is just under 2 hours away, Ronda about 2 hours away, and the other destinations within an hour. The ski slopes at the Sierra Nevadas are just an hour and a half away.

Antequera is the closest city (half an hour) and has many attractions to visit. It also has hypermarkets, large supermarkets and a large cinema complex. El Torcal, a natural park with limestone formations just less than 30 minutes from Antequera, is an ideal place for walking.

The historic town of Iznajar is just 10 minutes away with its medieval church and Moorish castle perched high above the beautiful lake of Andalucia. Iznajar has a good selection of bars, restaurants and small supermarkets. There are also two bar/restaurants on the beach giving wonderful views of the lake, particulalry lovely at sunset on a summer's evening.

Rute is 20 minutes away and is the home of Anis production, the aniseed liquor. There's a museum dedictated to its manufacture. Rute has a large supermarket with plenty of parking.

The baroque town of Priego de Cordoba set in the Subbetica Natural Park is just an hour away and has many places to explore, including the castle, 16 or so churches and lots of good restaurants and bars.

The Via Verde is a converted train track, originally used to collect olives by train throughout the region until the Sixties, which is now used ostensibly as a cycle route. In total, the Via Verde, is 56 km long and is great for walking as well as cycling. From this route the towns of Cabra, Zuheros, Lucena and Luque in the Subbetica can easily be explored. It crosses several magnificent viaducts, old iron bridges and passes through a tunnel. It's great way of exploring the Subbetica and enjoying the countryside.

The area is great for walking and you just need to pull on your boots and head off. Most farmland is accessible and provides all types of walking from gentle to challenging. A local walking clubs meets once a month for a guided walk. The right hand peak, La Tinosa, in the view from the apartment is a steep ascent but well worth the worth the effort.

Horse-riding stables are jst 15 minutes away and it's possible to go for an hour, a half day or a full day's riding. All ages and abilities can be catered for.

Iznajar / Fuente del Conde area

The local village of Fuente del Conde isjust 5 miniutes away. It has a lively bar/restaurant with a great terrace giving fantastic views of the Andalucian sunsets. The village also has a small well-stocked supermarket. The village fiesta takes place each year on 1st, 2nd and 3rd May when there's plenty of activities including a clay pigeon shooting competition, horse-riding, free paella and lots of dancing til dawn.

There are 4 important places that we recommend visit in the famous route of the olive oil and the subbetica landscapes, the real spain.
-IZNAJAR and its famous lake called lake of andalucia, plenty of good views and roads where you can walk or spend a day in one of our friends bycicles renting service avalaible. This town is just located on the top of a huge rock with a 16th century castle at the very top, which used to protect everyone long time ago.
- RUTE, town of home made sweets, chocolate, anis (a local liquor), famous in spain for having real size chocolate statues of famous characters of spain´s society.
- PRIEGO, probably the oldest city around here, if you fancy to learn more about olive culture this is place to have a look at the real method of getting the best oil in the world, called liquid gold, museums and plenty of history to learn in this narrow stone pavement streets.
-ANTEQUERA, is the contrast between the modernity and the classic, known as the intellectual city, home of various important writers and characters of our old history who left us some of the best monuments in the area, like the 15-16th century church or its many old streets with typical buildings that were used as students residences an convents. There are also many good shops and worldwide restaurants

However, if you wish to have some action or taste the feel or being a real spaniard instead of looking at monuments and spend the whole day from bar to bar, there are many activities that will surprise you.
Try the LOBO PARK, a real wolf park where you can watch the wild animals in their environment, feed them (although you will have to talk to the man in charge before) and also have a barbaque in the lovely scenery of malaga mountains.
THE DONKEY SANCTUARY, it may not sound very exciting but this is the place to learn about how life was in such a rural place like this long time ago, it is also fun to have a ride in one these historical animals and feel like a spanish farmer but without having to work in the olive trees.
QUADS, BICYCLES AND HORSE RIDING, just point in one direction and follow the rural roads, there are specified routes which will take you to stunning points with the best views in the area or just have a look around yourself.

And don´t forget fishing, water sports on the lake, climbing resorts, tennis, drinking and eating local festivals...


The spaniards love a good festival and there is always the opportunity during any time of the summer to have a look, each little town, village or city has its own festival with lots of typical food, interesting people and activities for anyone.

The location is unique with fabulous views from the house,the pool and the terraces yet only 5 minutes down to the local village by fully concreted country lane ( no farm tracks!) also featuring full air conditioning, a spectacular pool terrace with 9 x 4 metre pool, brick built b.b.q. and a large shaded area overlooking the pool and the mountain view.
There also a good size breakfast terrace at the front of the house off the lounge and a large separate private roof terrace overlooking the Subettica mountains,new fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher and separate utility room
Cot and highchair are both available.

Good service with spanish bilingual boy avalaible for any problem or information.

The pool and the garden are totally secluded so you can sunbathe ,play and relax in total privacy


The accommodation and the patio are all on one level and the car parking is directly in front of the house making it suitable for those with mobility problems
