The Andalucia / Cordoba Province region
Our property is situated deep in the heart of Andalucia away from all the high rise blocks and mass tourism of the busy coastal resorts. We feel that this is the real unspoilt Spain that not everybody gets to experience, rich in local customs, culture and warmth of the local people not to mention the outstanding natural beauty of the landscape.
Cities worth seeing
- This is the perfect retreat for those wanting a chill out holiday whilst being ideally located for exploring the main cultural centres of the Andalucia, especially Granada, Cordoba and Seville.
Visit Granada's magnificent Alhambra palace, the last strong hold of the Moors in Spain, Cordoba's incredible Mezquita mosque & Cathedral and Seville's Cathedral , Giralda tower, plaza de Espana and Real Alacazar.
Locally the charming town of Antequera with it's many buildings of architectural interest , historical Roman and Moorish influences including the Moorish castle overlooking the town is definitely worth visiting.
- The summers here are long, hot and sunny with cloudless skies perfect for relaxing around the pool whilst spring is also pleasantly warm & the countryside is alive with a profusion of wild flowers in the olive groves
During autumn and winter the cooler weather is ideal for out door pursuits, the sun sets are wonderful, the lemon & orange trees bear fruit and the olives are ready for harvest.

There are two main ferias in Antequera , May and August. We have spent two weeks at La Casita in mid-2012, and believe it is perfect for a couple who want to get away from crowds, so as to explore Inland Spain. Elizabeth & Roger are welcoming and knowledgeable (yet discreet!) owners, who have taken time to learn about Andalucía, and can offer you advice based on their own experiences if you wish. The setting is picturesque, the accommodation is first rate, and the welcome pack is excellent. La Casita is ideal as the pivotal point if, like us, you want to visit the main attractions of Sevilla, Granada, and Córdoba - these are all easily within 2 hours reach now that the A45 and A92 Motorways provide a great network (accessible via Villanueva de Algaidas). Take time too, to visit Priego de Cordoba (about 35 minutes away) which has some great independent shops and some lovely historical attractions.
La Casita is delightfully furnished and has all you could wish for in such a location - private sun terrace, small pool (shared with their other cottage), and substantial electric fans to help you keep cool at night!
We loved it. Thank you! Ed & Fiona
Another knowledgeable couple who wanted to discover the Real Spain and very much succeeded and know the region almost as well as we do.

Roger and Elizabeth , are the two most perfect hosts you will find in Andalucia .They have gone out of their way to make every thing possible , with loads of extra information on the area , history and the people of the villages . Every little extra added to a perfect week for myself and Joan . We thank you both for the best holiday we have had abroad . And Roger is an incredible gastronomic host . We look forward to return to this oasis in the Andalucian hills. Brian and Joan

We had a great time in the casita. The owners made us feel really welcome. The casita was cosy and very well equiped. Even a very complete welcome basket.
The owners helped us to get to know the area, showed us around and introduces us to local people.
Thanks to them we had a great holiday. Also, the location was wonderful, with spectacular views of the olive hills surrounding the cottage.
We would love to come back some day!
Sascha & Gerda were a very nice Dutch couple who were interested in our locale and who wanted to visit the Olive factory and with the language skills of Sascha, who translated, the visit was really enjoyable, we have taken many guests and I have always had to translate as best as I can. They got on really well with our locals and were invited to a family Hogmanay in the local bar. Would recommend this couple to other proprietors, flat left clean and tidy.
