About this location
The Andalucia region
Our property is situated deep in the heart of Andalucia away from all the high rise blocks and mass tourism of the busy coastal resorts. We feel that this is the real unspoilt Spain that not everybody gets to experience, rich in local customs, culture and warmth of the local people not to mention the outstanding natural beauty of the landscape.
Cities worth seeing
- This is the perfect retreat for those wanting a chill out holiday whilst being ideally located for exploring the main cultural centres of the Andalucia, especially Granada, Cordoba and Seville.
Visit Granada's magnificent Alhambra palace, the last strong hold of the Moors in Spain, Cordoba's incredible Mezquita mosque & Cathedral and Seville's Cathedral , Giralda tower, plaza de Espana and Real Alacazar.
Locally the charming town of Antequera with it's many buildings of architectural interest , historical Roman and Moorish influences including the Moorish castle overlooking the town is definitely worth visiting.
- The summers here are long, hot and sunny with cloudless skies perfect for relaxing around the pool whilst spring is also pleasantly warm & the countryside is alive with a profusion of wild flowers in the olive groves
During autumn and winter the cooler weather is ideal for out door pursuits, the sun sets are wonderful, the lemon & orange trees bear fruit and the olives are ready for harvest.
- This is a genuinely unspoilt working rural area producing some of Spain's finest quality olive oil.
Try some typical Andalucian cuisine such as delicious chorizo, Porras Antequera, Jamon Serrano, Morcilla, Gazpacho Tortillas, and many tasty pork dishes with a glass of chilled fino or a rioja in one of many tapas bars or very resonably priced restaurants in the area.
- Experience the vibrant energy of the local ferias in the summer months with authentic flamenco, singing, dancing, children's rides, shows and more into the early hours! There are two main ferias in Antequera , May and August. More locally Villanueva de Algaidas first week in August, La Atalaya in May, Iznajar and La Parrilla in early September plus many more in other locations. The more serious but unmissable Semana Santa (Easter) processions and festivities are also a must to see.
- Walking: There are many local walks of varying degrees of difficulty, with tracks and trails around the nearby lake with stunning views and for more serious walkers the GR7 (Gran Recorrido) footpath which crosses Andalucia passes very close by & into Cordoba province through the beautiful & dramatic SIERRAS SUBETICA Parque natural.
The EL TORCAL - Parque natural with remarkable limestone rock formations, abundant flora and fauna, walking trails & incredible views towards the Mediterranean lies south of Antequera. Approx 50 mins.
El Chorro gorge and nearby lakes with beach water sports. approx. 90 mins

"Wonderful hosts, wonderful house, wonderful pool..."
Just arriving at Casa Limon was a great experience! Roger and Elizabeth were very welcoming and the well stocked fridge meant we had no need to make a dash for the supermarket until the following day… More
A very polite family unit, and despite arriving with a nasty migrane not aided by the early start, we met and showed them around a wee bit later, the pool area was always left in good order as was the cottage. We would welcome this family back at any time. It was a very hot period when they were here and they appeared to manage the heat very well and jumped into the pool when they returned from the many trips out.

We stayed here in May 2014 and found it to be ideal. Roger and Elizabeth were very welcoming and were on hand to answer any queries. The furnishings were all of a high standard and the cottage was c… More
We found this family to be very busy and they spent most days sightseeing, they are a very nice family and we feel for them as the weather rather let us all down during their stay, we can help with many things but cannot change the weather. The cottage was left clean and tidy and we would welcome them back at any time.

"The Real Spain in a wonderful Mountain location with the No1. Hoste and Hostesss."
from the moment we arived Roger and Elizabeth made us feel like family coming to stay. Nothing was too much trouble and they wee on hand if we had any problems. We stayed in Casa Limon, which is a beautiful 2 bedroomed house surounded by olive groves and mountains. Casa Limon has two patio areas, one with a sun canopy and one with full sun. it was lovely to have the choice. The house is spotlessly clean and we had a really usefull welcome pack when we arrived, tea, coffee, milk, water, cheese, eggs, butter and even a bottle of wine. What a joy it was to be made to feel so welcome. Such a rearity these days.
We hired a car, which unless you are a long distance walker, it is essential as the nearest shop for provisions is aprox 20kms away. That for me was one of the beauties of this holiday. The roads, although twisty and turny, were very well maintained. The new motorways which there are many of them, are opening up dailey, and reall a joy to travel on. We went to the coast several times and this took no more than an hour. we visited several tourist attraction but we did rather enjoy returning to Casa Limon at the end of each day. The walled and gated pool area looked as if it would be ideal for the summer as it also had a B-B-Q and a really good gazeebo area. The pool nwas closed when we were there but it was Feb and really not warm enough to swim. All in all we will be returning to Casa Limon and look forward to planning our next trip. Roger and Elizabeth, (and the little ones) Tetley, Sooty and Tinkerbell, all made us feel very welcome. Now that I am home I am missing my 5 km walk which I took most days with Tetley. although who took who is debatable. Thanks R and E xx

"You simply must visit Inland Spain !!"
We've never doen this type of holiday before. We drove from Yorkshire and really enjoyed the journey. We arrived to find the reception so warm and welcoming including.. The owners Roger and Elizabeth are perfect hosts and Roger's cooking is second to none . Set in the hills amongst the olive groves this can be a total chill out holiday or a base for seeing the local sights. We went to Granada to the Alhambra which is amazing. The Casa Limon is spacious and well equiped with a shaded terrace to the 1st floor and a sun terrace on the ground floor. Spotless and clean. Couldn't fault it.
Thank you for your review, we look forward to your next visit in La Casita and send you both our kind regards, Roger & Elizabeth

"A lovely time was had by all"
We were made to feel very welcome by Roger and Elizabeth, despite not arriving until after midnight! The Casa was clean and had everything we needed, the upper terrace was really cosy on those lovely balmy evenings, the pool and surrounding area was great and really difficult from which to to drag ourselves away on the last day!
We made lots of use of the good information provided about places to visit, in addition to our own predetermined agenda for trips out.
All in all we had a great stay at Casa Limon and plan to return at some point.
We thank you very much for your considered review and sned you our best regards,
Roger & Elizabeth
