The Marmara Sea region

Istanbul is THE ONLY CITY IN THE WORLD THAT STRADDLES TWO CONTINENTS. THE BOSPHORUS, the "Strait" or body of water which runs from the Black Sea in the north to the Sea of Marmara in the south, cuts through Istanbul for approximately 32 kilometres (20 miles) and splits the city in two. The Bosphorus is the point at which East meets West. The western bank of the Bosphorus is in Europe, the eastern bank in Asia.

Istanbul

Cukurcuma-Cihangir is a very trendy neighbourhood in the heart of the city. The area is very vibrant with populer cafés, restaurants and bars that local people frequent as well.

Grocery stores, supermarkets are within easy reach. The apartment is only a five minute walking distance to Taksim Square and Istiklal Street where you have direct access to public transport including subway, funicular connection to tram and public buses.

Major neighborhoods like Karakoy, Kabatas, Findikli, Tophane are between 5 to 15 minute walk.

if for sight-seeing, you will require tour guides, State licensed professional tour guides can easily be arranged.

Near places to visit;

-Istanbul Modern: The newest museum in Istanbul located in a warehouse exhibiting paintings which thematically demonstrate the main trends and major works of modern and contemporary Turkish art since the early 20th century The museum's director says "the museum will show how much we belong in the West in a way the world doesn't realize."

-The Pera Museum,

which opened its doors in early June 2005, is the first step of a comprehensive cultural endeavor that the Suna and ?nan K?raç Foundation has launched at this distinguished venue in the city for the purpose of providing cultural service on a variety of levels. Its most important collection is the important works by European Orientalist artists inspired by the Ottoman world from the 17th century to the early 19th.

-Taksim/Istiklal Street, which is the heart of the new city, the modern face of Istanbul. We will walk this hip, crowded pedestrian street with the old nostalgic tram on it, through its vegetable, fruit and fish markets and lunch in one of the few hundred cafés, restaurants and bars.

“Ortakoy” which is among Istanbul's coolest, chic-est, most artsy neighborhoods, with trendy boutiques, atmospheric cafes and bistrots, and crowds of young, sophisticated residents and visitors. It's a good place to stop for tea or coffee, a snack or a meal, a stroll, or a rest..

"Istanbul calling"

Perfect apartment, we really liked the interior. Newly renovated in 2012.

Perfect location, 3 min walk from center of street. Around 17-19 TL for taxi from Galata Bridge.

Perfect host - with a welcome & good bye snack. She even took us to the airport after check out.

You have to walk to the third floor but we didn't mind some exercise. The view is nothing special but you can still see a mosque and check the weather. Free WI-FI.

"Perfectly located and really cozy"

The location of the apartment is ideal. It is on a quite street, but in the heart of the vibrant life of Istanbul. It is at walking distance to many places you might want to visit, but also really close to the tram or metro, that connect you to the other parts of the city. The apartment is really nicely renovated, with special attention to details. It really makes you to feel like at home and you will not miss anything, that could effect your comfort. The owner of the apartment is really helpful, hospitable and careful to make your stay enjoyable in Istanbul. She offered us a list of restaurants, that proved to be a great help, considering the huge number of places in the city.
