Key Info

We are renting an extraordinary flat in a wooden 19th century ottoman house. Our building was built by a local resident who worked for the famous Armenian architect Sarkis Balyan (architect of Ciragan and Beylerbeyi Palace). The building which is an elegant example of late Ottoman residential architecture is completely remodelled and our flat possesses all modern conveniences.

Kuzguncuk is situated near the bridge, on the asian side of the bosphorus. Access to the historical city is very easy and cheap. By an enjoying ferry ride you can reach the crowded center of the city in 10 minutes. Other means of transportation are buses, metro and taxi. Kuzguncuk is a lovely, calm, safe and multi-cultural neighbourhood with ancient churches, cafes, restaurants and art galleries. Many famous architects and artists have in the past years settled in Kuzguncuk.

The charming, fully furnished flat having a slight view of the bosphorus is on the second floor of the Ottoman house. It is a 1 minute walk to the sea.

There is an attached kitchen, 2 bedrooms (one double bed, 1 single bed), 1 living room (a futon), one bathroom in the apartment.

"Magical apartment in magical neighborhood"

As soon as I saw the rocking chair in the living room, right in front of the wooden window with the view of the Bosphorus, I fell in love with this apartment. It is decorated very tastefully and lovingly -- it is neither kitschy or bare. There is lots of space -- a big open kitchen, a separate living room and two bedrooms. The windows give us lovely little glimpses of life in this old seaside neighborhood -- the communal backyard gardens, the picturesque street where brides come to be photographed, and post-card perfect sunsets over the Bosphorus. Levent's brother lives downstairs and was available to answer all our questions and provide us fans for the summer. I would recommend this highly for any kind of traveler, from those looking for a romantic holiday or a family-friendly vacation. There are two flights of stairs but that is what makes the view so good and in Istanbul, and especially Kuzguncuk, either you climb the hill to an apartment or you climb stairs.
