The Dordogne region
Situated 10km south of Bergerac and 5km from the beautiful medieval village Issigeac the Domaine de Pémontier is ideally positioned to make the most of this beautiful region of the magical Dordogne. Set on top of a small hill overlooking the hamlet of St Cernin de Labarde and surrounded by wonderful vineyards we are ideally positioned to provide a fantastic launchpad from which to explore the area and make the most of your holiday time.
The warm summer days and long summer evenings are fantastic for relaxing in or getting involved in more energetic pursuits. There are reputed to over 1000 chateau in the Dordogne region for you to explore, or you can hire canoes and kayaks to explore the river.
All the villages have their weekly market where you can buy locally produced produce and embrace the full French experience. In the evening many villages hold 'marché nocturne', evening markets where you can eat freshly cooked, locally produced foods in surrounded by the ancient architecture of the region.
Throughout the summer there are frequent festivals and events celebrating significant events (such as the end of the 100 years war) or just to celebrate the completion of the harvest.
