The Isle of Mull is the the fourth largest island off the West Coast of Scotland. It has an area of over 300 square miles, and a resident population of around 3,000. That means 10 'Muileachs' per square mile - you often see them roaming over their heathery territories. Ben More is the only Munro on the island (a Scottish mountain over 3,000 feet in height), though there are many other equally attractive but shorter hills.
The Isle of Mull / Tobermory area
Much of Mull's population lives in Tobermory, the home to a single malt Scotch whisky distillery, where you can smell the fumes wafting across the Bay. You probably won't bump into anyone from Balamory here, as it was a fictional place created for childrens' television. The coloured houses are real though.
