"Wonderful!"

We had the most fantastic week in the cottage. It's excellently appointed having everything you need for self catering, plus wonderful views. Care has been taken over the furnishings and layout. So good we have booked to go again in 2015.

"Superb cottage with fantastic view"

The cottage had everything we needed and in a fantastic location with uninterrupted views of the bay. The wood burning stove kept the cottage cosy in the evenings with no need to use the alternative heating. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed and the bread maker was very useful. The nearest and only shop is well stocked but a few miles away so it is advisable to go with some grocery supplies on arrival day. A beautiful place to stay - wish we had more time to explore the area and would bring a boat or canoe next time.

"A perfect location with a magnificent view."

Comfortable, well appointed and perfectly located. The only disadvantage is a view so glorious and ever changing that it is easy to just sit there and never do anything else. Make a point of introducing yourself to the family, their local knowledge is graciously given and very valuable. Use the community shop for an insight into island life, and the community cafe for the best smoked salmon you have ever tasted. All the major sights are in easy reach along roads that are a pleasure to drive, but it is worth planning to leave the car behind and spend one day exploring the local hills on foot.

"Beautiful remote home form home"

Booked as a 'get away from it all' break and were not disappointed. This is a lovely cottage on the Bhaltos peninsula, Isle of Lewis. The views are fantastic and the cottage is a 2 minute walk from the beach. We were fortunate with the weather which made our stay even more enjoyable. The cottage consists of 3 bedrooms - 1 double and 2 bunk bed rooms. It is clean and modern and has a family feel to the place. Also, thanks to the neighbours for their friendly welcome and fresh eggs.. We will definitely be returning.
