An Airigh, translated in Gaelic means shieling or hill pasture in Summer. This luxury self catering cottage offers a central location and is situated within 1 mile from the centre of Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. The cottage can accommodate comfortably up to 4 persons and has been awarded a 4 star quality assurance rating by Visit Scotland. Stornoway is a bustling town with a range of local shops and restaurants. Lews Castle overlooks a busy fishing harbour. An Lantair (Arts Centre) hosts performing arts and also incorporates a cinema and restaurant.

If a rural setting is more to your liking then why not visit Shiantview Cottage our other 4 Star self catering holiday property (also with Holiday Lettings).

Lewis being the largest island of the Outer Hebrides has a rich history and culture dating back from the Norse invasions to strong Gaelic traditions that are still observed to this day. Stornoway is the main port and was named 'Steering Bay' by visiting Vikings in past centuries. The island's diverse habitats are home to an assortment of flora and fauna, making it the ideal place to 'chill out' and get away from it all. The cottage is well placed for guests with a variety of pursuits in mind, whether into hillwalking, fishing or bird watching, fun packed watersports or just relaxing on a sandy beach. Stornoway boasts an 18 hole golf course, tennis and outdoor bowling and a sports centre with swimming pool.
