About the home

Craigilee is situated on the sea front with unintereupted views , very peaceful. yet only 15 min walk from main town Rothesay or by car 3 min. access to all amenities. The flat has its own garden with patio and furnished with table and chairs. The villa is ideal for families as there are a number of beaches can be reached. Putting green in main town, visitor centre, castle, swimming pool,childrens play areas in various locations. Bike hire.Horse riding. This is our first year with holiday lettings.

The Central Scotland / Strathclyde / Argyll and Bute region

The Isle of Bute is one of the most assessable islands in the Firth of Clyde. 40 minutes from Glasgow by car and then a short ferry journey of 35 minutes.. The island can also be reached by a 90 minute car journey from Glasgow taking you through Loch Lomond , The Rest and be Thankful and the beautiful Argyll forests bringing you to the village of Colintraive where you board the ferry for a 5 minutes crossing to arrive on the Isle of Bute.

The Isle of Bute / Ardbeg area

Bute is the ideal location for a family holiday having numerous attractions for all ages. There are various beaches,horse riding, golf which there are 3 courses, and a putting green which is in the centre of the main town of Rothesay. There are various gardens and walks.. The meadows has a children's play area and there is also tennis courts.
There is a castle which dates back to the Vikings which you can visit.

Another attraction is the family home of the Stuarts who once ruled Scotland. This is called Mount Stuart which is of Gothic architecture which is one of the finest in Britain. There is also a restaurant and children's play area in the grounds. There are also many walks in the grounds of Mount Stuart..
The island also has marinas and a sailing club. There is various restaurants and food shops which sell produce from the island. There is a Jazz festival every year,Highland Games and various other attractions through out the year .,

The main ferry crossing is from from Wemyss bay to Isle of bute which takes 30 min on ferry and runs every 45 min (check timetable) or you can get the ferry from Colintraive to Rhubodoch which is a 3 min journey on ferry and you then drive round into rothesay. The drive to Rhubbodoch takes you over the rest and be thankfull which has lovely views.

“Fantastic, everything you could ever need or want for a holiday!” Great location, could walk or cylcle wherever we wanted to go. Had everything, picnic hamper, picnic rug even a bucket and spade. View was fantastic. Couldn't say anything negative, the weather was also great on our stay.
