About the home
Our house is a two floor, two bedroom townhouse within a small gated community of 36 houses. The gardens are well maintained and you have easy access to a large pool for residents use only as is the paddle tennis court (we have bats and balls for your use).
We are conveniently near to the commercial centre - under 10 minute walk and it's only a 20 minute walk down to the beach front commercial centre although we would recommend that you hire a car. The beaches have soft sand and are very well maintained. There is also an ample choice of restaurants, coffee shops and ice cream parlours.
In addition to the Islantilla Golf Complex where we are situated, you also have the choice of many other fine golf courses in the area including easy access to two courses on the border with Portugal.

The Costa de la Luz region


The Costa de la Luz (Coast of light) is the western part of the Andalucia coastline that faces out to the Atlantic. The sand on the 7 mile stretch of beaches is fine and golden with plenty of space. The beaches are backed by sand dunes and pine trees and much of the surrounding area comprise protected nature reserves.
The Costa de la Luz is a fabulous area where you can spend as little time as a weekend or plan a 2 to 3 week break. Just 20 minutes drive from Portugal and only 45 minutes from Faro airport - giving you the choice of the best of both the Spanish and Portuguese golf courses. You can also take a day trip up to Seville or spend your time exploring the magnificent coast line and local towns
Beautiful golden sands and small seaside towns devoted to national tourism. From west to east: Ayamonte, Isla Cristina, Islantilla (modern complex), La Antilla, El Rompido, Punta Umbria.
The Islantilla / Campo de Golf area
Down the road from Islantilla is the fascinating cowboy town of El Terron which is well worth a visit during festival times. The local residents of Lepe and La Antilla dress in their finest Spanish outfits and make their way on horseback to El Terron for food and drink.
Other great places to visit include Ayamonte, Huelva, El Rompido, Neuvo Portil, Seville or just drive up into the mountains. You can also drive or take the ferry back into Portugal and go to Villa Real.
If you have an opportunity to go to Seville during a Fiesta we would highly recommend the trip.

The nearest airport is Faro which is about 45 minutes drive. There are no border controls so crossing from Portugal into Spain is just amatter of driving across the bridge.. Alternatively you can drive from Seville which is a little further taking approximately an hour. We can recommend a very reasonable car hire company from Faro.
