Our apartment is in the heart of Milna village, on the Brac Island, Croatia, in the XIX century stone house, last renovated 2013. The house is 50m from the sea, some 800 meters from the nearest beach. There are a number of shops and restaurants very close to the house. The apartment is ideal for 2+2, family with children, or just two adults: 1room is with a double bed and living room has a sofa bed.

All the necessary ingredients are there: an uncontaminated nature, crystal blue sea, delicious cuisine and warm welcome. Our home is a safe tranquil place for families, private hideout for couples and a perfect base for those who would like to explore surroundings and entire Brac Island. Milna is a reality of unique beauty and charm: the sight of palms, antique olive trees and the shadow of pines, chirping of the crickets in the summer afternoon, little wooden boats along the coast, nets and traps near the sea, locals singing a capella as the sun goes down, dinners, great wine and traditional hospitality, talks whispered deep into the night on the church staircase, early morning market, a busy ship-yard with a centuries long tradition, pires and benches along the coast, queue for newspapers and the latest gossip, the smell of baked bread and of fresh fish sold directly on the shore. Weathered sea masters set off before the first lights to reach the well kept secret fishing-grounds, saluting with a glance the chapel of St. Nicholas the Traveller, who once upon a time used to see the sailing-vessels to far-away seas.

In case you wish to explore the surroundings, from Milna, there are boat connections to Split and other islands (Solta, Hvar), ideal for a day trip. Diving, fishing, boat excursions are easy to organise. Renting a bicycle or a scooter is a good way to go around the place too. We can organise airport transfer from Split airport or harbour, or from Supetar (Brac ferry terminal). There are fast boats (catamarans) that connect directly Split and Milna, and you can spend a day in Split, visiting the old town and the Palace of Diocletian, fish market or do some shopping. Come and enjoy an unforgettable holiday in Croatia!

The Dalmatia region

Brac Island is the third largest island of Croatia, with an area of about 396 km; approx. 36 km long and 4 to 13km wide, with 175km of coast line. Its highest peak Vidova Gora, 778m above the sea level, is also the highest peak of all the Croatian islands.

The island enjoys more than 2,700 hours, of sunshine annually; it is one of the sunniest regions in Croatia and has the truly Mediterranean climate. The summers are long and dry, the winters mild and rainy. The wettest months are November and December, the driest July and August. The temperature only very occasionally drops below O°C (winter average temperature is 9°C; on the other hand, more than a hundred days have a temperature of more than 25°C (which is the average summer temperature), and more than fifty days above 30°C. The settlements, on the western and southern coast of the island have the hottest climate.

There are 23 little places on the island with the population of about 13,000. Supetar is economic, cultural and tourist center of the island with approximately 2600 inhabitans. This is usually the first place you get to on the island, with a ferry from Split.

Island of Brac

Alongside the little harbour of Bobovisca, Milna is the only settlement on Brac's western coast, 18km from Supetar. This fishing village is set at the end of the biggest harbour on Brac, sheltered from the winds and exposed to the sun. Secure as it is, it was well known to the commanders of the emperor Diokletian's ships, in the time of the building of his palace in Split. Today it hosts a modern equipped marina which attracts many famous names on their fabulous super yachts.

Unlike other places on the island, Milna has preserved to a high degree, the harmony of civic buildings and fisherman houses on the coast and the rural architecture on the hill, from where the snake-like footpaths wind down to the vineyards and olive-groves. For many, the most beautiful harbour on Brac, forks into two channels, the two sunken valleys that descend from the interior. They bring the fertile alluvium and the refreshing breeze from the Brac upper valleys during hot summer nights. Between these two channels, Zalo and Pantera, a wide, blunt cape protrudes on whose clearing round the church and the old fort, the houses are gathered together. Their stone fronts are turned to the sun creating thus a wonderful local atmosphere valuable for tis being so typical in the Mediterranean environs.

"sensational and authentic experience of the croatian fishing village"

Having a lot of experience around the Croatian coast, I was completely overwhelmed by warm and unspoiled atmosphere of the small fishing village! The app is located in the center, yet not completely e… More
