Home description
The timeless ambiance of one of the world's top 10 most beautiful islands will surround you in the small village of Sveta Nedjelja, home to one of Croatia's most prestigious wineries as well as a picture perfect marina along the rocky coast. The water is warm and crystal clear! Two of Hvar's best pebble beaches are nearby. It is a short walk to the sea and to the village church and market. There are numerous hiking trails, and it is a great location for mountain biking and climbing. There are two fantastic waterside restaurants within walking distance and many others within a short drive.
The nearby town (12 km) of Jelsa has its own winery and many konobas--wine bars serving food and the owner's home made wine. Hvar is Croatia's sunniest island with over 2700 hours of sunshine per year. Jelsa and Hvar town offer outdoor concerts and music festivals during the summer months. The culture and history of the area goes back thousands of years!

The Dalmatia region
The island of Hvar is approximately 40 km wide and 11 km long as it runs perpendicular to the Dalmatian coast. While closer to Split via access by ferry from the north, the easternmost point is a closer distance to the mainland and about 140 km from Dubrovnik and Medjugorje is only about 40 km from Drvenik, the mainland town where the ferry docks. Both Dubrovnik and Split are UNESCO World Heritage sites and offer a wealth of cultural and historic sites to see.
The Krka National Park with its magnificent waterfalls and breathtaking scenery can be accessed via a Day Tour from Hvar, as well as river rafting on the Cetina River.
Island Hvar / Sveta Nedjelja area
Diving, sailing , sea kayaking, mountain climbing, mountain biking, hiking and sea swimming are all available locally.
In the immediate area, the Zlatan Otok winery and marina offer interesting exploring. The village church of St Spyridon has an altarpiece by famed artist Baldrano d'Anna "St Jerome in the Desert" and other Venetian artist work. Before the church was built in the late 1700's, the villagers worshiped in a cave Virgin of the Snows chapel up the hill built by the Augustinians in the 1500's--a good morning hike. Nearby Jelsa offers a beautiful harbor, interesting shopping and many konoba wine bars and restaurants as well as one of better beaches in the area. Hvar town, is considered one of Croatia's most fashionable resorts. Many old stone houses are nestled into the slopes of the three hills surrounding the marina, and is highlighted by the Venetian fortress on top of the highest peak. Cafe life abounds in the magnificent St Stephen's Square.
The Arsenal and Municipal Theater on the south corner of the main square dates back to the 13th century, making it Europe's oldest theater.
The Adriana Hotel rooftop swimming pool and day spa are available to the public on a daily basis for a reasonable fee.
