About the home

Enjoy our beautifully restored traditional cob farmhouse set in rural surroundings yet enjoying easy access to major places of interest. Suitable for families wanting the benefits of a larger property, or groups seeking the perfect base for reunions and get together's.

The property enjoys a large dining room leading through to a comfortable lounge area with generous seating and log burner, ideal for relaxing after a busy day sightseeing.

Also on the ground floor is bedroom one with two singles or one superking bed, with ample access through to en-suite and wet room.

The main staircase leads from the dining area to the first floor, where three bedrooms are situated. Two of the bedrooms have king sized beds and can also accommodate a single/day bed and travel cot with prior arrangement. The fourth bedroom is an airy double bedroom housing two single beds. All the bedrooms have en suite facilities with showers, one contains a bath.

The property has a large garden with mature apple trees, overlooking farmland. Garden furniture is available.

The rear of the property has off road parking, and the driveway to the front of the house will accommodate three cars.

Further details

A refundable security deposit of an amount determined by the owners is required with the final payment. The full balance of this will be returned after the end of the stay provided that there is no damage to the property or furnishings, and following the safe return of keys to the owners.

Linen and towels can be provided at extra cost.

The Normandy / Calvados region

Les Fieffes lies ideally placed for those wanting to visit the Normandy landing beaches, enjoy the medieval city of Bayeaux with its famous tapestry, or simply enjoy the delights of the French countryside. The cider route is also on our doorstep for those wanting to taste a refreshing sample of what this corner of France is famous for.

Grandcamp Maisy is a 20 minute drive with its picturesque harbour and fabulous seafood restaurants.

The American landing beaches are all within easy reach together with numerous museums and places to visit. Point du Hoc and St. Mere Eglise are a must.

Carentan is also within easy reach with its picturesque marina.

The Isigny sur Mer / Les Oubeaux area

Isigny sur Mer (from which the family of Walt Disney hail) is a short distance away, with its fountained square, shops, bars and restaurants, it holds a market each week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. All requirements the holiday maker will need can be found in Isigny. The town has a large park with boating lake which is ideal for younger visitors.

The property is a 40 minute drive from the ferry port of Cherbourg and 50 minutes from the port of Caen (Ouistrham) via the main Cherbourg - Caen motorway (N13). Both of these ports are serviced by Brittany Ferries.

Nearest Airport: Caen, Charles de Gaule, Paris (3 1/2 hours)

The budget ferry of LD Lines and their sister company Transmanche Ferries (Transmanche - summer only) operate from Portsmouth and Newhaven respectively to Le Havre. Although from Le Havre it is around 1 hour 30 minutes drive to the property travellers can still make substantial savings on the cost of ferries. Travellers using this route should drive from Le Havre (over the magnificent Pont de Normandie) to Caen, and then follows the signs for Cherbourg (N13).

We have recently enjoyed a week's stay in this lovely house. It is perfectly situated to enjoy all that Normandy has to offer, be it wonderful beaches, lovely towns or local history.
