The recently remodernised Residence Baia di Sorgeto, is situated amongst the lush green vineyards of Ischia. It is conveniently located 1.5km from Sant'Angelo and just a small walk away from winding steps, which lead, down to the Bay of Sorgeto. The bay is rich in hot thermal springs in the Med Sea so one can bathe in the sea even in Winter!! The studios contain a self-sufficient cooking/ kitchen area with cabinets, ample supply of kitchen utensils: including coffee filter, scissors and fridge, plus anything else you could possibly need to use during your stay. The studio also contains an ensuite bathroom complete with shower and a TV (not that you would need it, as there is so much to see and do here). All rooms have either a private balcony or patio with small garden and stunning views of the Island. The island of Ischia as seen in the new Talented Mr Ripley and Avanti- better in life!!New! We can also offer you now a covered thermal-pool with hydromassage, usable all year long.

The Campania region

Agriculture is one of the most important sources of production in Campania, even if irregularly distributed over the coastal areas and the hilly regions.
Cereal growing has been replaced by fruit and vegetables, and Campania is the largest producer in Italy of tomatoes, cauliflowers, beans, potatoes, fennel, broccoli, aubergines, cucumbers, cherries, peaches, apricots, plums, figs, walnuts and hazel-nuts.
The region was originally colonized by the Greeks around 750 B.C., the first settlement by the Euboeans being Pithecusa, now known as Ischia; the oldest traces have been found on Mt.Vico in the Lacco Ameno area.

Ischia Island area

Situated in the Western part of the Bay of Naples, Ischia is the largest of the Neapolitan islands and one of the most attractive places in the surroundings of Naples (from which it is 17,5 miles away).
It is of volcanic origin and its present structure is the result of a complex geologic evolution started in the Pliocene. The first eruption is the one of Mount Corvo, occurred in 2200 B.C., while the latest one took place in 1301-1302 and caused the making of Molina Point, called Arso or Cremato.

How to get there

AUTOSTRADA INFORMATION.
On the Autostrada from Rome to Naples take the exit for Naples and then uscita (way out) Napli Porto/Beverello otherwise after the toll-booth drive along the Tangenziale by-pass. Follow the route to Pozzuoli port. The ferries sail from the harbour to Ischia where they terminate.
FROM NAPLES AIRPORT:
From Naples airport buy a bus tiket in the tabacconist or newsagent at the Airport then take a Alibus to Piazza Municipio, mind your wallet (Beverello Harbour, Naples)
FROM NAPLES RAILWAY STATION:
Buy a bus ticket in the tabacconist or newsagent, take Nr 1 tram to Beverello/Porto di Napoli.

BY BUS – FROM ISCHIA PORTO TO PANZA
Bus route: Line 1 or CS
Bus tickets for the journey can be purchased at the bus station in Ischia town.
Bus-stop opposite the fruiterer (Fruttivendolo). Panza centre.
On arrival in Panza, telephone the residence 081 909331 and we will arrange transportation from there.
BY TAXI
From Ischia Porto to Baia di Sorgeto, the fare is Euros 35.- approximately.
BY CAR
On arrival on the island of Ischia, bear right and drive in the direction of Casamicciola, Lacco Ameno and Forio and follow signs for Panza/Sant’Angelo. Drive through Panza village in the direction of Sant’Angelo and 100 metres from the village centre, take the right fork. After 10 metres, turn sharp right down the hill. The Residence is situated 700 metres further on, on the right-hand side.

The Residence's private thermal pool is rich in minerals (13 m x 8 m and 32°C) taken directly from the springs below (80°C and 105 m deep), which possess therapeutic properties, toning muscles and stimulating the skin. The peace, the aromatic smells of the surrounding vegetation, the closeness to the sea and the unforgettable view of Sant'Angelo and Capri (in sight from the large pool terrace of 350 mq), makes the Residence an ideal place for total relaxation. Ischia is an island in the gulf of Naples in front of Capri. It can be reached by ferry (1 hour at a leisurely pace with stunning views) and hydrofoil (40mins high speed ride) from Naples: Beverello or Mergellina or Pozzuoli.

Hot Tub in the Sea! In some places of the Sorgeto Bay, the sea is so hot that it would be possible to boil eggs (no exaggeration!). One of the bays is just a 10 minute walk from your accommodation, where you can have a dip in the sea, which feels like a hot tub! And there’s more, if a tufacean stone is scratched, a mud can be obtained, which can be used for making a beauty mask for the face. Local supermarket purchases may be delivered to the apartment free of charge. There is an Internet point and fax service at 800m. Car, scooter and boat hire all available locally also. Diving courses are available in nearby Sant'Angelo and Forio. Personalised boat tour of the island. Characteristic restaurant nearby apartment.

Thermal Spa-Pool Gardens The Island of Ischia is scattered with natural- thermal spring pool gardens. These gardens have a mix of different types of pools, filled with the natural spring water from the Volcanos on the Island. The pools range from cold to hot tub temperature and have no chlorine. There are large family pools to small 2 person romantic pools with the cosiest grottos and the most amazing views. The caves in the walls of the volcano’s are used as natural saunas and there are massage and beauty treatments available also. We can arrange discounts on entrance costs to the thermal gardens.
