The Heart of England/Peak District
Situated in the beautiful south Shropshire Hills area The Granary sits on the side of Wenlock Edge close to the Medieval market town of Much Wenlock. It is approached down a mile long private track with wonderful views all round. Walks can be taken straight from the door and can be energetic along the Jack Mytton Way or gentle strolls through the fields. Dogs and horses are welcome by arrangement.
Wenlock Edge, a prehistoric tropical reef is one of the UK's most import geological features and well worth exploring. Nearby Ironbridge provides a fascinating insight into the early industrial age with the original ironbridge built by Thomas Telford. A specially built replica of a Victorian town at Blists Hill makes a great day out as does Acton Scott, the famous Victorian working farm recently serialised on TV. Many National Trust properties are within easy reach. The Medieval county town of Shrewsbury is 10 miles to the north and Bridgnorth 10 miles to the south.
