"For your information"
We stayed at the muilean for 5 nights in August. We were 9: 5 adults and 4 kids. The house is new, big and clean and it would have been perfect if it was:- not so isolated. It is in the woods of kilmu… More
Thank you for your comments and sorry you did not enjoy the local amenities at our highland home.
Please note the following:-
This particular group of guests appeared to be unhappy with almost everything before they arrived at my property. The night before they arrived I had a telephone call from the lady they were staying with near Edinburgh asking for directions which I gave verbally over the telephone. I also texted the relatively simple and short directions to the guests that night. The next day the guests called asking for early entry at around 12.15, instead of the 3pm already agreed. I offered early entry at 2.30 which was again agreed. They also asked for the directions by text again which I sent immediately. I waited at the property from 2.30 and called and texted the directions several times. Eventually the guests arrived extremely angry with no introduction but rudely proceeded to shout at me regarding the pouring rain, the single track roads, and that my postcode was not listed on google or on their gps system in their car. I checked their car gps and it did not accept any Inverness postcodes. Therefore there appeared to be a problem with it. I assured them that the postcode is on google and got the google images sent to them with google step by step directions. Please note the lead guest who I dealt with and had booked the holiday has excellent English, so there was not really a language barrier.
My property does not advertise wifi as it is not available but there is a good 3g which our visitors enjoy. It appears these guests had not arranged for this with their network provider prior to visiting the UK.
We do not advertise Mulean as "lively" as it is an ideal retreat with peace and tranquility, but only 10-15 mins from the lively City of Inverness and only 5-10 mins drive to local grocery store, cafe, pub, restaurants visitor attractions etc at the local North Kessock area. Most children visitors love the forest and hill walks, beach combing, books, games and jigsaws available at Muilean and do not require computers or dvds whilst on holiday here. They are of course welcome to bring along their own dvd player, game station or whatever they like to play.

"Beautiful house and gorgeous location."
I stayed in this house with a large family group. We were very impressed with the house and the wonderful location. The house itself is spacious and very comfortable, and also very clean. The kitchen is large and well appointed and the bedrooms are really comfortable. The only small negative we would say is that the outside area of the house appears somewhat unfinished and is not very child friendly. I'm sure that is something which will be attended to though. Overall, I would highly recommend this house and would be very happy to stay there again.
We are at present building a large double garage for our larger groups of guests who may have 3-4 vehicles, boats, canoes and other water sport equipment. Whilst we have guests staying we do not do any of the building work. Due to the busy first year we have had and July being the peak holiday season where the house is fully booked, for safety reasons the garage area is cordoned off with fencing. I have noted on the website that there is open sea views to the front of the house with a beach and also a natural babbling burn coming down the boundary of the property. The woodlands and rear garden is terraced on a slope. Therefore young children would require to be supervised.
