Enquire nowThe Scottish Highlands region
Nestling in the foothills of the beautiful Monadhliath Mountains in Strathnairn Corrimony cottage is just 7 miles/12km from the Highland capital city of Inverness and only a short distance from the world-famous Loch Ness.
The area has fabulous hills, lochs and rivers and yet is so close to so many of the Scottish Highlands' best tourist attractions - Cawdor Castle, Culloden Battlefield, the Cairngorm Mountains and many more. Ideally located for day trips to the Northern and Western Highlands or for exploring the splendid countryside right on your doorstep.
Strathnairn is steeped in history and heritage. The Gask cairn (one of the Clava type cairns) and standing stone in one of the fields as you approach Gask House Farm Cottages dates back 4000 years and you are welcome to walk up and enjoy these directly from your cottage. The area is renowned for its Jacobite connections and is set in the heartland of Clan Chattan - a confederation of clans comprising Clans MacKintosh, MacGillivray, Shaw, MacBean, MacPherson etc. It is said that some of these clans met at the Gask standing stone before the Battle of Culloden.
