The Bothy is ideally situated for exploring the local area and for visiting some of the many local attractions in around Inverness "The capital of the Highlands" A secret getaway to escape from the day to day "drudge" and for you to have some peaceful and well deserved quality time together......or to get lost in a favorite book whilst listening to the waves of the Sea.
I have deliberately tried to leave the rustic charm of the bothy with a view to guests feeling that they can put their feet up and make themselves at home. Will appeal to lovers of nature, sea life and birds.

"Fabulous stay at a fantastic cottage right by the sea :)"
The bothy was an ideal base for our holiday and is set in a very picturesque location. The sea comes right up outside the deck and it is charming to sit outside the cottage and unwind in the evening watching the waves crash. The cottage itself is very simple yet efficient and it had all the necessary things one could need for a short stay right from the amenities in the kitchen to wood and coal for heating to an engrossing Jigsaw Puzzle (which we unsuccessfully tried to complete). I would recommend this place to everyone for its comfort, beautiful setting and a very hospitable host in Rhona.

"Welcoming, beautiful location, atmospheric and the wood burning stove is the heart of the place"
This is a beautiful down to earth little house. If you are able to create your own little luxuries in life you will love this. It will satisfy all your needs. It is very welcoming and in colder weather the wood burning stove turn this into a warm, cosy, atmospheric little nest where you can relax and enjoy. Our stay was a bit short and rushed, but I could have easy turned the weekend into a week. If we ever return to Inverness there is no need to look for another place to stay. The owner truly walked the extra mile to make sure our stay was satisfying. The beautiful fresh flowers in the lounge just gave it a special touch.

"Peaceful and Tranquil"
The property is exactly as described, plain and simple - everything you would expect from a bothy. The accommodation was extremely clean and the kitchen was a good size and well equipped to cook family meals. Bedrooms were comfortable and we enjoyed a relaxing weekend break. The bothy is in a truly unique location, right on the shores of the Moray firth with views to the sea from every window. It was a great base for exploring the beach and you are only 5 -10 mins drive to Inverness if you need wet weather options. The owner was extremely helpful and was in touch by text to check we were happy with everything.

"It was all that I expected and more!"
I had such a wonderful week at the bothybythesea. It is rustic, but the most charming cottage ever. I loved the wood burning stove, it kept the cottage warm & cozy. There was a full supply of logs for the fire and the views were spectacular! No matter what window you looked out, the sea was right there. Breathtaking. I was more than comfortable and would definitely go back.

"Wonderful and peaceful stay at the Bothy"
What a lovely little place the Bothy turned out to be! As soon as we walked in, we felt very at home and comfortable! The views were amazing!! The place is right on the water or very close to it and it was just very peaceful with really nice sunsets! We found the bed very comfortable. Also location was great but we did have a car to come and go as we please. Would definitely recommend this little place and we would stay here again if we ever came back to Bothy. Thanks Rhona for a lovely stay!

"Beautiful, peaceful, tranquil spot with very helpful owner."
We had a fantastic stay over a weekebd in this beautiful corner of the world. The owner was super friendly and really helpful in providing all the details we needed to know about directions, things to do locally and all the information about the bothy. It was great value with stunning views. It was perfect for a wee party up North with my partner and another couple. A big thank you to the owner!

"Great Location and ideal base from which to explore the Highlands"
Was initially slightly put off by the tired appearance of the bothy but once you look outside and see the fantastic location that seems to become insignificant. Having the log fire was also very cosy on the cold evenings! The beds were great very comfortable so got a lovely nights sleep and could hear the sea in the mornings from your bed. Our 4 year old daughter had a ball she loved being near the sea , and collecting pebbles. It was very easy to book this and the communication with the owner Rhona was great.

"plain & simple"
we stayed for 2 nights at the end of september the bothy was superbly located righto on the shoreline - the views were stupendous the accomodation was basic but that was all we were looking for - a base for a couple of nights the kitche & sitting room were well appointed; the bedrooms small but adequate highly recommened - especially for nature lovers

"Great location with stunning views"
The Bothy by the Sea is just that. Great location with fabulous views over the Moray Firth and easy access to explore surrounding area. Loved having the wood burning fire - and made good use of it even in August! We travelled with our teenage son and there was ample space and equipment for the three of us, although the single room is off the double room, with no door which could be an issue for some people. Personal service from the owner

"Very nice bothy, quite a unique location"
Very nice location, Bothy is as described, if you are looking for 5 star then this is not for you however if you want a clean good base with stunning views across the Moray firth then you can't go wrong. Garden area is spacious, ideal for older kids, some rough stony areas near the boundary may not suit small kids. Beds very comfy, second bedroom is off the first with no separating door which could be an issue if you are looking for privacy. Lounge area very nice, kitchen is spacious, bathroom and shower fine but quite small
