A modern chalet about 200m from the lake in Bonigen, a quiet village on the outskirts of Interlaken. Flat lakeside walks or some challenging scrambles within minutes from the house. Easy car or public transport links to the famous mountains (Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau) of the area, rope parks, swimming pools, ice rinks and the town of Interlaken.
Well equipped house and used by the owners as their home. We would welcome you to our home and ask you to treat it with care! Small garden and patio, off road parking.
We have a Dolce Gusto coffee machine ( pods available in the local Coop supermarket or widely available in Europe) and a Philips Fidelio iphone/ipad speaker dock. We also have a Wii with two controllers and a few games and cable TV with over 100 channels including BBC1 and many other European channels.

The Bern/Obwalden region
An amazing year round holiday destination, lake and facilities (including heated open air pool) in the village. A wealth of mountains to walk in, including the trains up to the year round snow on the Jungfraujoch and the cablecars to Schilthorn. Lots of money saving tickets mean that the prices (which look eye wateringly expensive at first glance) can be heavily discounted (for example a ticket is available that gives children under 16 free travel) A short drive and train ride and you can be on the ski slopes ( about 40 minutes to your first downhill), but please notes that whilst lots ski from the Bonigen (including the ski instructors who live here!) it it not a traditional skiing resort and is very quiet in the evenings
You may want to make your own discoveries but we are happy to talk through your hopes for your holiday and share any ideas and tips we may have. Hopefully you will share your ideas for special places with us too!
Mountains, lakes, climbing, canyoning, white water rafting, skiing (in winter), year round glacer walking, local restaurants, swimming in the lake (cold), swimming pools (warm), museums, city of Berne about 50 minutes by car, Luzern easily day trippable, tunnel through to French speaking Switzerland from neighbouring valley. We love just walking in the meadows, looking at the old chalets and having a good rest.

"The place for family to come together"

"Truly, a home away from home !"
The photographs don't do justice to the house. It's far more comfortable, larger and much more good looking.
The finishing is superb, plumbing grade A, heating very efficient, hot water abundant. The furniture and fixtures are all in excellent maintained condition, it really is a very well-equipped house.
As for house-hold appliances and knick-knacks, there is not one thing missing, in fact it has everything in duplicate, the house-owner has really made sure and that you don't have to search around for long for what you need.
The location is superb, the bus stop at Bonigen See is close, very picturesque and has twice an hour connections to Interlaken Ost.
Village is very quiet and beautiful, has a few quaint pubs and a little Volg for groceries etc.
Nick, the house-owner is very helpful, prompt in dealing with queries and a very gracious host.
It's an experience to cherish for a long time.

"A great location in a wonderful part of the country."
We found ourselves as a group of six... including three teenagers and an 8 year old... so as you can imagine it was challenging to find suitable accommodation for a group such as ours... let alone find activities that would keep everyone entertained!
However, the chalet was easy to get to (considerably shortening the long car journey) as we had excellent directions which was fantastic. The chalet was also a very short walk from the lake and several great restaurants and also to two bus stops.
Both bus stops have buses which leave ever half an hour and are a 10 minute ride into Interlaken (or alternatively you could take the incredibly scenic 40 minute walk that follows the lake into Interlaken).
Interlaken has a lot of shopping and good restaurants, and the surrounding walks are great! (Perfect for leaving the teenagers to the shops while you go on a walk for the afternoon!)
The house itself is very spacious, with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, which is ideal for large groups (especially when the shower is in high demand!) and the kitchen is well equipped with a dish washer and a fridge freezer.
We just want to say a huge thank you for renting the house out to us for the holiday! We had an amazing time!

"Gorgeous location, beautiful, large and clean chalet with all the amenities"
We were a family of nine staying at this Swiss chalet for our first Europe vacation and we were extremely happy with our stay.
The chalet is located in Interlaken region (Bonigen) right next to Lake Brienz (the views were just spectacular-see pics below). We could see the lake from all the street facing windows. It is also just a 15-20 minute scenic drive from Lauterbrunnen, Grindenwald etc.
The house is big and comfortable and includes four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a huge living room and kitchen. The living room had a bunch of board games as well as Wii (which the kids really enjoyed).
Nick was very helpful and quick to respond to any question from the day I first emailed him. He even offered us a detailed itinerary on what to do during our entire stay there.
The house also had good WiFi which was important when planning the next day's activities and uploading pictures to facebook :)
Highly recommend this place to any family/large group planning a trip to Interlaken!
