The Scottish Borders region
Whatever you are looking for The Scottish Border's takes some beating. The hills and rivers range from the majestic to the tame and have inspired artists and writers such as Walter Scott and James Hogg (otherwise known as the Ettrick Shepherd). Those same hills are a walker's or mountain biker's dream. Why not venture along part of the Southern Upland or St Cuthbert's Way or explore the 7Stanes Mountain bike trails?
Innerleithen is the ideal base for exploring the Borders. Peebles, Melrose and Moffat are just a few of the small towns within easy reach. All have their own unique style, and you will find a range of interesting shops, museums and coffee shops in each place. If visiting stately homes is your bag then you will be pleased to know that you can fill your days with trips to the Bowhill Estate, Abbotsford (home of Walter Scott) , Mellerstane House and Thirlestane.
Have a day out in Edinburgh while you're here. It is on a direct bus route from Innerleithen, or a 50 minute drive away.
There is so much to do you can't possibly get bored in the Borders.
Surrounded by outstanding countryside, and located on the river Tweed, Innerleithen caters exceptionally well for holiday-makers. On Cosaig's doorstep you will find not only a selection of interesting shops, friendly pubs and small restaurants, but also tourist attractions such as Traquair House, the National Trust's Robert Smail's Printing Works and St. Ronan's Wells.
For the more active there is a multitude of lovely local walks and bike rides. Indeed Innerleithen is famous for it's downhill track which is one of the 7stanes mountain bike trails. Very nearly complete is a new all-purpose path which will link Innerleithen, Cardrona and Peebles, and which will take you to Glentress, another huge draw for mountain bikers. Glentress is also the home of a new Go-Ape tree top adventure course. If you are fond of swimming, both Peebles and nearby Galashiels have swimming pools. Peebles Hydro hotel also runs Day Spa breaks.
The Scottish Border's towns are renowned for their summer festivals, and Innerleithen is no exception, boasting the oldest organised sports meeting in Scotland. St Ronan's Games Week is really a misnomer with activities for people of all ages spreading over 10 days. Innerleithen knows how to party! Other annual treats include the Traquair Fair and many mountain biking events.

"A Hidden gem in the Scottish Borders"
This cottage is a wonderful place to have a relaxing break, everything you need is here, so cosy and comfortable, looks over the park to the hills just waiting to be explored. It is so peaceful hearing the birdsong, and in the distance the rippling waters of the River Tweed with fishermen dotted along its banks
We are delighted that you had a relaxing break. A huge thank you one again for your kind comments here and in our guest book. We very much hope that you do return!

"Super, dog-friendly cottage"
Cosaig was warm and welcoming when we arrived on a cold January evening. We found a super welcome pack of milk, butter, bread, eggs, tea, coffee, juice and wine with extras of home-made flapjack, dog biscuits and the ingredients for a Burns supper including haggis, neeps and tatties with a nip of whiskey too! The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed and the beds were the most comfortable we have slept in. The bunk beds were big enough and comfortable for an adult to sleep in with no problem. There was a small enclosed garden, but the park was across the road, just as you stepped out of the door. We could park the car directly outside the front door. The cottage was very dog friendly and we would recommend it for holidays in this lovely area.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay at Cosaig. We're always pleased to hear that our guests (human and canine!) have enjoyed their stay, and we very much hope that we can welcome you back soon. Best Wishes, Jennifer

"A very relaxed Christmas"
This is a wonderful place to stay if you want the to escape to the countryside with the convenience of a village shops, cafes and pubs. The accommodation is faultless; warm, welcoming, clean and very well equipped. The nicest thing is the lack of house rules - no long list of "don'ts" and please leave spotless like you never stayed here". Jennifer is incredibly helpful prior to arrival- she offered to take in a food delivery if needed- and the welcome basket is generous and yummy! We were even
left Christmas crackers. If you take your dog, they are made to feel at home and Luke the greyhound is an excellent walking buddy.
The cottage is ideally located for wonderful walks. The scenery is stunning and the village is very peaceful.
Thank you so much. It's made our Christmas to get such a lovely review. We do hope you will return to Cosaig (and Luke hopes so too!) Jennifer :-D

"Cosy cosaig! home from home."
A delightful, well equipped holiday cottage set in a beautiful location. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. The owners were extremely helpful and very thoughtful, from fresh flowers to locally sourced produce in our welcome pack, nothing seemed to have been overlooked.
We found the local walks and scenery breathtakingly beautiful and enjoyed using local transport to visit Edinburgh city center.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. It's great to think that the cottage is appreciated by our guests, and that our efforts to make it feel homely are worthwhile. We hope that we will see you again soon. Kind Regards, Jennifer

"Cosaig is a lovely well equipped and located cottage."
Cosaig is extremely comfortable, very well equipped and cosy. The owner Jennifer was so friendly and helpful, she had provided us with the best welcome pack of delicious local food I have ever had. The location of the cottage was perfect for us, very close to the High St and shops but so peaceful. The proximity to the Mountain Bike trails was a real bonus and the bike storage too.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. It's great to get such positive feedback. We very much hope that you will come and stay again.
