Home description
An ancient maison de village, situated in a peaceful and picturesque village between the sea and the mountains. Just a short walk away from the little local village shop and 2 little family run resaturants (Pizzas and Catalan Cuisine).
GROUND FLOOR - has a large garage with washing and drying machine and freezer, 1 large double bedroom with newly installed en-suite shower room with toilet. FIRST FLOOR - there is the living room/dining room and kitchen area (brand new, with fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave etc!) Patio doors lead out to a large outdoor private patio/terrace (50m²) for eating out, bbq's and sunbathing! Also on this floor there are 2 bedrooms, 1 double and 1 with bunk beds and a shower room with toilet. SECOND FLOOR - there is a large double bedroom, dressing room and en-suite bathroom with bath, shower and toilet.
The house has recently been renovated, and is fully equipped and furnished for 8 persons. TV, DVD, Hi-Fi, games for children etc.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Pyrenees-Orientales region
Ideally located for all kinds of days out: Beaches only 25 minute drive, 5 minutes from the mediaeval village of Castelnou, 25 minutes drive from the Spanish border, with Figueras and the Salvador Dali Museum and the big city of Barcelona ! Skiing in the Pyrenées only 1hr drive. Carcassonne and the chateau Cathars and many, many other places to visit.
Many different sports activities possible including Scuba Diving, canyoning, mountain biking, bike hire, sea kayaking, fishing (sea or river), windsurfing, kite surfing, horse riding etc etc.
Ille sur Tet / Corbere area
A great place to get away from it all, there is no "high season" in Corbere ! Ideal for walks in the countryside, mountain biking and exploring the Catalan countryside. Only 45 mins drive to the Pyrenees Mountains, 10 minutes drive from Vinça (magnificent lake for swimming, canoeing, with breath-taking views of the mountains.)

However, the location was close enough to centres of activity to cater for all needs. The beach being about 30 mins away and the beautiful mountains being right on the doorstep. " The house in Corbere was truly delightful, in the middle of a friendly village, you must visit the Pizza Restaurant in the square just round the corner – we had such a warm welcome from the owners and they make delicious pizzas too! We really enjoyed our stay and it was lovely to be met by Jean-Luc and Lisa when we arrived and departed and have everything explained to us. Each of the bedrooms were very different and colour co-ordinated, the one on the top floor was our favourite! We liked to cook in the evenings when we came back from our travels to the beach/lakes and it was so nice to have a fully equipped kitchen with good quality crockery and cooking utensils. The whole house is so well equipped you really don’t need to take anything but yourselves. There were so many DVDs, games and books to occupy us in the evenings and every night we sat outside in the walled patio to eat our meal and when the lights came on it was a delight. The garden bench was a lovely place to sit with a glass or two of wine and a good book in the late afternoon – bliss. It was an ideal base for visiting Spain too as it is not far from the border. "A beautiful house in a lovely location with very friendly and helpful owners, made this an all-round superb family holiday. Corbere is delightfully situated between the mountains and the sea, with Spain just a short drive away. The lakeside beach at VInca (just a few minutes away) was beautiful and loved by the kids - as was the pizza at the local (and very friendly) pizzeria. The house itself is ideal for several people to enjoy. The facilities and cleanliness were superb, as was the opportunity to relax and enjoy a BBQ on the wonderfully private patio area.
