Ille sur Tet

Corbère is a very peaceful village typical of the region, with a village church, boules and tennis courts. It also benefits from having a great Pizzaria (not open all year). The Boulangerie and general store is just a short stroll from the house.

It is ideally situated for walking, cycling and horse riding in the surrounding countryside.

The nearest towns are Ille sur Têt and Thuir both of which are a few kilometres away and have great shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants as well as thriving, lively markets. (Thuir, Saturday morning, Ille sur Têt Friday morning).

At the markets you can buy wonderful local produce, such as peaches and cherries that are widely grown here. The fruit trees in spring are a magnificent sight with a sea of white, pink and red blossom stretching as far as the eye can see. You can also buy fresh from the farm, vegetables, a huge array of cheeses, saucisson, olives and of course a great variety of locally produced wines.

We agree, it's lovely to wander to the shop for croissants while the coffee brews and then sit out on the terrace listening to the dawn chorus and admiring the view, heaven!! Don't forget we offer a discount to returning guests.

"Happy Days"

The house is exactly as described and a great choice for a get away. The veiws from the balcony are exactly as shown and the castle is a leisurely 20 minute walk to, with great views from the top. Corbere is an ideal location as it really does open up that part of France for you to explore, with so much to do and see, and you are still only 40 mins drive from Canet Plage. I would highly recommend the house/location, as it definitely captures that small French village essence.

"A lovely relaxing getaway "real France!""

We spent a lovely two weeks relaxing in the quiet little village of Corbere. The accommodation was perfect for us and our 10 year old son, with a spectacular view from the rooftop terrace. Beach and mountains were within easy reach by car. The authentic pizzeria with English speaking owners, two minutes around the corner from the house, is a bonus if you enjoy the odd glass of red wine!
