Downstairs, the villa comprises a spacious marble hallway leading to a large lounge furnished with deeply comfortable couches and chairs, a Bang and Olufsen television, dvd player, stereo and video player. There is plenty of room for everyone to relax in comfort. As you would expect, the furnishings are of good quality and decorations are stylishly tasteful. You can choose to dine in the formal dining room, the dining kitchen, the covered terrace or around the pool.
Upstairs there are four luxurious double bedrooms, all air conditioned/heated. Three of them have king sized beds and one has twin beds. All the beds have extremely high quality mattresses and are furnished with superbly luxurious bed linens— you can be sure of a comfortable night’s sleep.
Two bedrooms have private balconies and all have fantastic sea and mountain views.

The swimming pool is 11m x 6m and surrounded by large terraces. Much bigger than most villa pools. The views from the pool and gardens are breathtaking. If you like walking, trails begin from the back garden and go through the Besparmak mountains.
There are delightful gardens surrounding the property planted with bougainvillea, jasmine, almond, jacaranda, orange and lemon trees. There is even a wonderful grapevine which is scrambling over the terrace roof. Beyond the garden borders the hillsides are green with olive trees, firs, wild thyme and almond trees, all adding to the fantastic views. Our gardens literally blend into the wild mountainsides. Villa Rockheart and its gardens are extremely private and you will not be overlooked by anybody whilst enjoying the pool and terraces.
There is covered parking for two cars.
Golf is 30 minutes away. Scuba diving 10 minutes. Horseriding 30 minutes.

The Kyrenia region
Northern Cyprus is still an unspoilt delight compared to most of the Mediterranean. The northern coastal plain around Kyrenia has many sandy coves. The Eastern shore around Famagusta and also the Karpas Peninsula has long empty sandy beaches. Kyrenia with its tiny ancient harbour is incredibly picturesque and has a wonderful atmosphere at night when it really comes to life.
Summers are long in Cyprus and it seldom falls below 14C in winter. Christmas lunch on the terrace is quite normal.
There are many sightseeing opportunities from crusader castles, to ruined abbeys, shopping in Kyrenia, wildlife viewing in the Karpas, horse riding, walking in the wonderful mountains, wild flowers and butterflies.
It is very reasonable to eat out and you will find hundreds of restaurants with differing cuisines to choose from.
The Ilgaz area
Set high above the bustle of the coastal plain, Ilgaz is a tiny dream of a Cypriot village, a centre for walking the Besparmak (Five Finger) Mountains. On the mountainside just below the village, Villa Rockheart is perched over a green valley with spectacular and uninterrupted views running down to the sea, only five minutes drive away, and up into the mountains behind.
There is a restaurant/bar within a couple of minutes walk or it is 5 minutes drive to a wide choice including Cypriot, Chinese, French, Italian, Australian and Indian.
The nearest beach is about 5 minutes drive but there are a good choice within 10 minutes. Most with full facilities and watersports. Escape Beach is wonderful for families.
Mountain walks begin at the end of the garden and you can walk through the mountains past waterfalls, castles and ruined abbeys and monasteries.

-Fly to Ercan - Villa Rockheart is about 40 minutes away by car.
-Currently, all flights touch down in Turkey first, generally Istanbul. Generally, no need to change planes.
-Turkish Airlines, Cyprus Turkish Airlines, Atlas Jet, Easyjet all provide flights from the UK.
-Fly to Larnaca - Villa Rockheart is about 1.5 hours away by car. British Airways, Cypris Airways and Helios all fly into Larnaca. EU citizens can cross the border freely.
-In the summer there are many charter flights.

Excellent standard of accommodation and good value for money. The rather isolated location adds to the charm and certainly provides peace and quiet, with stunning views of mountains and sea. A car is essential to fully enjoy local facilities and attractions. |

Theres nothing negative i can say about Villa Rockheart whatsoever. This was our first family villa holiday having always opted for a decent hotel with everything laid on, so we knew it was going to be different. We all think we hit the jackpot first time because we all agreed it was our best holiday to date. The owners are incredibly helpfull and informative from initial enquiry through to journey home. There is a property manager on hand if any problems arise, Marion is a font of local knowledge who is just a phone call away. The villa is a perfect home from home but in a stunning location with the fantastic Cypriot climate, at the end of October we had 6 days of wall to wall sunshine. On arrival we found a stocked fridge with the essentials to get you through the first day or two, a very nice touch indeed. There are numerous places at the Villa to relax or enjoy a meal from alongside the pool to a lovely shaded terrace with views out to sea, the other side has a lovely mountain view. If it gets too hot there are plenty of areas to enjoy a bit of a cooling respite from the sun. The pool is plenty big enough and well maintained and cleaned on a regular basis. There is a book/journal in the entrance to this lovely villa where previous visitors have left their thoughts and experiences of their stay and opinions on where to visit, its a great guide on where to eat. We found a lovely bar (Hoots) within walking distance but would recommend hiring a car or taxis. We are a family of 5 but there is plenty of room for up to 8 people without been overcrowded, our kids would watch DVD in the evenings while we sat on the terrace enjoying a nice glass of wine after a hard days sunbathing. Finally if theres a Villa in Northern Cyprus offering this level of value and service i will be amazed. |

It is rare that a holiday meets and exceeds expectations but a week at Villa Rockheart certainly achieved this. The information provided by Alison is excellent and everthing is as described in the litriture. A week in October with temps around 30deg every day, how fantastic. A car is essential as the villa is up in the hills which gives it a stunning view of both the coast and mountains. The recommended restaurants are good and otherrs we tried were also of a high standard; the food in N. Cyprus is very good value. The locals are friendly and all seem to have a basic understading of English. I would strongly recommend a hiliday in N.Cyprus and renting Villa Rockheart. |

We had an absolutely fabulous time in Cyprus, it was just what we needed! I’m hoping we’ll be able to go again next year. It’s such a perfect location for exploring and I’m looking forward to going again when the kids are older so that we can explore the castles! I can’t think of anything that could be improved really, the villa was in tip top shape and had everything we needed. Marion had done a great job in getting us a cot, high chair, formula and nappies. Thanks for everything again!. I’m wishing we were still there! I’m working on Andy....... There were a few properties I liked the look of!!!! Teeheee!

We have had a magnificent holiday on the island with nice weather and temperature and also the house was great. For sure it is in our top three anywhere now and we have stayed in a lot of houses! All four of us loved the pool and we lived most of the day either inside/outside near the pool or the great kitchen. We have some ideas to come back next year at the end of April, please let us know availability.

Just a quick note to say what a fantastic time we had at Villa Rockheart. There were eight of us altogether as we went with all four grandparents. They went on various trips that were recommended by other guests who have stayed and written in your very useful guestbook. Sevener car hire you recommended were fantastic and picked us up from Larnaca and took us back for a very reasonable price and the hire car was at the villa when we arrived. Your property manager looked after us very well and was able to answer any questions we had and I am sure if we had had any problems they would have been no trouble for her. The whole holiday went smoothly without any problems and the villa was exceptional. Our children have both learnt to swim in your pool and we had trouble getting them out in the evening. I wanted a quiet holiday by the pool in the sun and that is exactly what I got and more, we will be going back. Thank you
