The West Country region
Ilfracombe is set between the National Park of Exmoor to the east and the golden coast , with its surfing beaches of Croyde, Woolacombe and Saunton to the West. The North Devon Coast path stretches from Hartland in the East and Lynmouth.
Ilfracombe is a lovely seaside town, with many Victorian villas and terraces. It has a busy high street, with Farmers markets on saturday mornings and many independent retailers.
The best hot chocolate has to be from Walkers chocolate emporium on the high street, divine cakes and teas, plus the opportunity to have your photo taken with a six foot chocolate hunk.
The sea front leads to St James place, a street lined with gardened tea-rooms. The opportunity to walk off a cream tea is presented by climbing Capstone Hill.which a feature of the seafront.
The Heritage harbour and Quay are set in a stunningly beautiful location, with various shops pubs and restaurants to visit. From the harbour you can book boat tours to view the coast and visit Lundy Island.
Also at the harbour is St Nicholas Chapel, which was built in the 14th century on the highest point of the harbour and is run by volunteers of the Rotary Club and is open to visitors.
The old life boat house, is now home to the Aquarium which explores the life of North Devon rivers down to the sea.

"Outstanding...high quality and very welcoming...just perfect"
We stayed here in May 2012 for four nights for a friends wedding (everyone else was staying in a hotel in town) and from their own feedback we definately made the right decision to stay here. Even before arriving, Linda took the effort to contact us, discuss our arrival and ensure that we were satisfied when we arrived. We were welcomed by cream tea in the apartment arranged by Linda on arrival which was a lovely treat after travel down. The apartment was beautifully decorated and spacious and ideal for spreading out for a few days. The location was ideal and the short walk out of town ensured that the experience was peaceful. Thank you Linda for a wonderful visit. Definately the place to stay if you visit Illfracombe.
Thankyou for taking time to review your stay and my apartment. Its great that you had such an enjoyable stay.

"A comfortable, modern stay with plenty of character."
Lovely appartment, clean, well presented with everything you need. Only a short walk from town, no sea views but a nice patio area to sit out on. TV reception is very variable so if you are a TV addict bring plenty of DVDs. Fully self catering so bring washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and toilet roll etc. Incredibly comfortable bed and very relaxing environment. Would recommend it for a weekend away to anyone.
We take on board what you say about the Tv reception, and will look into resolving this problem this season. Thankyou for your time in completin this review.
