Bicclescombe Grange is a large detached 4* VisitEngland rated luxury house, formerly a substantial Gentleman's residence, built around the turn of the last century. The property has accommodation on three storeys, with a magnificent indoor heated swimming pool and many other fantastic features.
The Grange lies on the outskirts of Ilfracombe, the main coastal resort on North Devon's beautiful coastline and is set at the end of a private drive, within 3 acres of superb gardens which guests are free to explore or just to sit and observe our alpacas in their enclosure within the grounds, adjoining open fields and countryside. Bicclescombe Park, with its many amenities, sits at the end of the drive whilst nearby are the wonderful sandy beaches of Woolacombe, Saunton and Croyde.
It's a very big house with a games room with full sized snooker table, dart board and table tennis. There's a 60" flat screen TV with all Sky's channels and a computer with internet access and WiFi, and for the younger children there are lots and lots of toys! The kitchen is luxurious, with granite surfaces, marble tiles, solid oak furniture, 2 dish washers, a 7 burner range, American style fridge freezer with ice maker, large capacity wine cooler, flat screen tv with Sky, making this a wonderful place to cook.
With eight bedrooms this large holiday home sleeps up to 23 plus babies and is perfect for a luxury self-catering family holiday or a fantastic party venue to celebrate special birthdays or anniversaries. All double rooms have king-size beds.

The West Country region
Ilfracombe is located on the north coast of Devon, enjoying a mild climate and boasting spectacular scenery and a friendly welcome. Visitors have been returning for many years and yet still find new and exciting places to explore. Come and meet Verity, Damien Hirst's statue, taller than the Angel of the North, overlooking the entrance to our picturesque harbour, nestled between St Nicholas Chapel to the west, a 13th Century Chapel sitting on Lantern Hill, and Hillsborough and the great sleeping elephant to the east, site of an old Iron Age fort. The Victorian town houses mingle with old pubs and smugglers' cottages, offering a glimpse of times gone by. Wander round the town and visit Ilfracombe Museum where children, and grown ups alike, can wonder at some of the most curious exhibits, such as the two headed kitten, and the Chocolate Emporium in the High Street with its museum explaining the history of chocolate making. The Landmark Theatre along the seafront offers a wide variety of entertainment throughout the year, from musicals, comedies, drama, ballet, etc. Ilfracombe is the gastronomic centre of North Devon, you just would not have enough time in one visit to experience all the great restaurants; a great excuse to come back. Try your hand at deep sea fishing, or just enjoy a boat trip from any of our experienced boat tour guides along the Exmoor coast, or to Lundy Island. The Waverley visits Ilfracombe every summer for those who wish to take a trip on the world's last ocean going paddle steamer. There are some spectacular walks along the Devon part of the South West Coast Path with breathtaking scenery across the Torrs to Lee. Enjoy a drink and meal at the Grampus Inn and stroll back, or catch a bus. Local buses will take you to Woolacombe, Barnstaple, Bideford, Appledore, Westward Ho!, or to Lynton and Lynmouth on Exmoor and onwards to Minehead across Exmoor on an open top double decker bus. For an up to date diary of events, and further information on local restaurants, attractions and the surrounding area, etc., visit www.visitilfracombe.co.uk
Ilfracombe is situated at the edge of Exmoor National Park, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Some of the world's greatest surfing beaches are nearby, such as Croyde or Putsbrough, four golf courses, theatres, horse riding, quad biking, go-karting, cycling, kayaking, surfing, to name but a few of the activities that can be found within a few minutes drive from Bicclescombe Grange. Or you can simply relax and enjoy the gardens and wonderful indoor swimming pool.
