An elegant, brick built, English house that was our parents family home since 1999 with leaded windows located in an attractive but quiet street. Since recent refurbishment, my sister Elaine and I manage the property which is now used exclusively for holiday rentals. It's location near the iconic red London bus routes (bus stop 150 metres) and walking distance to two Central Line underground tube stations makes it an ideal base for exploring London. It is also 5 minutes walk from a busy High Street for shopping, restaurants at reasonable prices and many local sports activities.
With four well-equipped, carpeted bedrooms, sleeping up to 11. The 'Green' bedroom with double bed has an en-suite shower cabin and basin. The large 'Yellow ' bedroom has a double bed and can also fit either a cot plus one optional child's bed. or two optional childs beds. The 'Blue' bedroom has two single beds plus an optional child's bed and the Bunk Room has two full size single mattresses.
For maximum occupancy of 15, there are two single chair beds in the Dining room and a double sofa bed in the Lounge
On the first floor, there is a large family bathroom with shower over the tub, wash basin and toilet. Downstairs there is a separate toilet with hand wash basin plus another shower cabin and wash basin in the Utility Room.
A wooden babies cot with bedding, high chair, stair gate and changing mat are available on request.
The large lounge has comfortable leather sofas and armchairs, flat screen TV, DVD and video player whilst the large dining room has sliding doors onto the terrace overlooking the secluded rear garden. Well equipped modern kitchen with oven/grill, dishwasher, two fridges, microwave etc. Utility Room with shower cabin and wash basin plus freezer, washing machine & tumble drier.
If the weather is mild, the rear garden has sun loungers, tables, chairs and a parasol plus a large barbeque for summer use.. There is a child's play house and toys/games for all ages.
The house is easy walking distance to local supermarkets, shops, pubs and restaurants. Located on several red London bus routes with the bus stop just 150 metres away. Walking distance to two Central Line subway (tube) stations for shopping and restaurants in the Olympic Park (11 minutes) and London's West End (30 minutes) or City (20 minutes).

The Essex region
The London Borough of Redbridge lies to the North East of London City and Central London and occupies 21.7 square miles with a population of approx 300,000. Redbridge comprises 24 districts and it has lots to offer the visitor, historical buildings and parks, good shopping and sports facilities.
Much of it falls within the County of Essex one of the oldest in England. It only a short "tube" journey from the hustle and bustle and excitement of the famous London's West End but within a few minutes you can experience Epping Forest, an ancient woodland donated by Queen Elizabeth 1st, plus farmland and nature reserves with plenty of outdoor recreation opportunities.
The coastline of Essex is famous for its beaches and the nearest resort, Southend -on-Sea, has the world's longest pier (1.34 miles/2.16Km) with its very own train service!
Redbridge has excellent transport links with 7 Central Line Tube Stations, 3 Train stations and numberous bus services linking to the center and all districts.
JUST 30 MINUTES FROM LONDON'S WEST END
Number 10 is located in the leafy London Borough of Redbridge, Barkingside district, just 12 miles North East from the center of London's West End and only 5 miles from the 2012 Olympic Park & Stadium at Stratford which can be reached in just 13 minutes from the nearby Central Line London Underground (Tube) station at Gants Hill. Also at Stratford you will find the Westfield Shopping Centre - the largest in Europe with 254 stores, 80 restaurants, cinemas and casino.
Number 10 Hatley Avenue has private off-street car parking and two tube stations, Gants Hill and Barkingside, within easy reach on foot or by a very short bus ride. The London Underground (aka "The Tube") and Docklands Light Railway (DLR) make the whole of London and the suburbs easily accessible on foot without having to worry about parking and the daily "Congestion Charge" that operates in London city centre during weekdays. In fact a visit without a car is very easy and not inconvenient with plenty of public transport links from airports and railway stations. Locally there are many private hire car services and taxis in addition to the buses, trains and Tube services. In the centre there is also now a Cycle Hire Scheme that permits you to rent bikes by the day or hour

"home from home"
I brought my family to London for a week to show them all the sights and sounds of my place of birth and needed a suitable place to stay for the trip. I stumbled upon this property online and it sounded totally suitable for my needs. To my delight and that of my family, it exceeded our expectations, in that it housed us all in comfort and cleanliness and catered for all our needs. The property is also well situated for London exploration, being close to bus and tube connections and shops and eating outlets. If I were to return, this is where I would stay and would thoroughly recommend it to any prospective visitors.

"Lovely large home with a wonderful backyard... safe and in a great area!"
We were visiting the UK for my grandmother's funeral so we needed a large enough house to accommodate several families. This house had it all and more. The hosts were wonderful and reached out several times before we arrived to make sure everything was ready for us. After a long overnight flight from Canada we were pleasantly greeted by the host who gave us a detailed tour of the house so we could be comfortable for our week long stay. The little things made the world of difference to me... Fresh flowers, very good quality duvets, nice towels, extremely clean... and all the supplies in a house you could ask for (including toys for the kids and a bbq!). The hosts even bought us a large amount of food for our arrival - and were clever enough to buy kid friendly items too! As for the location - I loved it. The kids had a wonderful time playing in the several parks in the area and walking up and down the high street. The Candy Store on the high street was a favorite for the kids and the Pub down the road was a favorite for the adults! The kids also loved taking the double decker bus. This was a sight seeing trip all on it's own. Practically speaking, the bus stop was a 2 minute walk from the house, then a few short stops down the road you were on the Central line Tube to take you anywhere you needed to go in London. The supermarket was a very short walk from the house and a shopping trolley provided made it very convenient. The garden was lovely and had a patio area for the adults to sit in and have large outdoor family meals together. It also has a grass and garden area that the kids had fun exploring and playing in. The house has a very warm feeling and the neighborhood was very safe. We all had a wonderful week and made some great memories. I highly recommend staying here.

"Wonderful and welcoming"
The house was perfect and exactly what we hoped for. It was clean and airy. There was an essentials pack waiting for us in the fridge so we didn't have to rush out for bread and milk. The facilities were perfect and the location was also perfect. We were met on time and earlier than they usually let people check in, by one of the owners who talked us through the alarm system etc. Early check in was requested and they were only too happy to do this. Also check out was at our leisure as there was no one booked in that day. This really helped as we were able to stay in central London a little longer. The tube is quite close by for London however for people who are less able, have a young family or cannot walk far I would recommend a taxi otherwise it's about a 15 20 Min walk. The only thing I would say needs to be clarified are things like do certain items need to be replaced e.g toilet roll hand wash kitchen herbs spices? Although there is everything you could wish for remember it is not a hotel, so take your own toiletries toothpaste etc. Overall we had a fantastic stay and look forward to going back. It felt like a home from home, relaxing and very welcoming. Thanks Phillip and Jo.
There is a bus stop 200m from the property with a very frequent bus service that stops directly at the Tube (subway) station which is a three minute ride. Taxis and private car hire are not necessary but are available if required to take guests to the airport etc.
Guests are expected to supply or replenish consumables.
