Cosy Family House Ile de Ré (house)

Home description

The house is located in a preserved area, close to the sea shore and near to a quiet wild beach. It is next to the cycling lane, which allows access (3 km) to the typical and famous town of Ars-en-Ré (in the luxurious part of the island).

The house is located in the famous district of "Le Martray", the very narrow area of the island.In the large garden, children can (under adult supervision) play badminton, tennis-table, and even cycle (as long as they are careful with the flowers). There is also An almost private (not managed but really quiet with only a few guests) clean wild beach which allows children and teenagers to spend good times with their families.

The neighbourhood comprises only 5 or 6 other properties, generally only occupied during the summer by families (one or two live here all year long).

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Charente Maritime region

The area Poitou-Charente-Vendée is one of the best place to have a quiet and nature-oriented family holiday. Famous places are not far from the Ile-de-Ré (less than 2 hours by highway):
~ amusement park of the FUTUROSCOPE;
~ the swamp near Poitiers which is called "The Green Venice"...
~ etc

From the Ile-de-Ré, guests can visit the popular island of "Ile d'Oléron", and also the "Fort Boyard" which is a medieval fortified construction upon the ocean and made famous by the TV show.

South, along the Atlantic coast, you can quickly get to "Bassin d'Arcachon" (Arcachon Basin), which is from the world most popular landscape, in particular the "Dune du Pilat" (type all these words into your web search engine to learn more).

If you wish, you may also escape to Spain!

Ile de Re / Ars en Re area

Ile-de-Ré is a wonderful region. The Island was, during the past 50 years, informally divided into 2 areas: the East, near the continental coast, was the most popular; the West area, from the narrow district of "Le Martray" where the property is located, was considered a private and aristocratic place to visit during the holidays.

Many international celebrities dedicated songs to some picturesque places (the Trousse Chemise Forest).

Of course, many gourmet restaurants, adapted to all tastes, and to all budgets are available in the area.
Around the Island, all wind/Sea sports are available, including: surf, sea motorbike, sailing, fishing, diving.

How to get there

By car, you can drive on the highway to "La Rochelle" (430 km from Paris), followed by a national road to Ile de Ré.

It is possible to get by high speed railway from Paris (3 hours to La Rochelle). From the station you can take a bus to the house.

Alternatively, fly to the La Rochelle Airport, and rent a car or take a bus for the rest of the journey.

Damages or dirt to the house (inside) caused by pets will be charged according to the work requested. Dirt caused to the terrace/garden will be charged 250 €.

Linen and towels may be provided with charge of 17 €/person.

House cleaning agent can be provide and will be paid directly by the guests.

Conditions

A well-behaved dog or cat is allowed.

Smoking authorized but no butt or cigarettes in the garde (use ashtray).

Refundable breakages deposit of €400 required on arrival, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).

30% of rental fee due six weeks before your stay to secure booking, 100% to be received 7 days before your arrival.

Children are welcome to all the opened property areas, but must be under an adult supervision.
