It is within easy walk of La Flotte harbour with its cafes, excellent restaurants and medieval food market which is open all year. A typical white-washed island home with modern amenities. Large open plan living room, dining area and kitchen all opening onto a large patio with BBQ and seating to enjoy those long hot summer evenings in this secluded location.
With best way to enjoy the island is on bike and the coastal path runs past the end of the drive. St Martin (the Capital of Ile de Ré) is just a 20min ride away and most of the island can be explored this way without use of a car. The cosmopolitan town of La Rochelle is only a 15 minutes drive away adding many possible activities and visits to your stay.

The property has a fully fitted, modern kitchen with breakfast bar, a dining area with table for 6 persons and comfortable lounge area with tv and dvd player and ipod dock.
Utility room/store with washing machine and drying area. Also used for storage of pushchairs and other equipment.
MASTER 4 POSTER BEDROOM
Double bedroom with double Oak 4 poster bed, bedside tables and fitted wardrobe. Window to courtyard.
Three single beds with 2 bedside tables and fitted wardrobe. Window to courtyard. The third bed is a full size truckle bed under one of the single beds. If used for three, the room is really only suitable to 3 children as there is limited floor space with the bed out. (however, it can be put back under the bed during the day)

The Poitou-Charentes/Vendee region
The Charente Maritime is on the Atlantic coast of France between Bordeaux and Nantes and is known for its sandy beaches and maritime activities. The micro-climate of this small pocket of France produces around 2200 hours of sunshine hours per year, around twice the hours in the UK. La Rochelle is a fortified town with superb shopping in the old town, harbour restaurants and activities including a Aquarium, Boat trips, Maritime Museum and a host of cultural and holiday activities. La Rochelle is 15 minutes from Ile de Ré by car.
Other attractions nearby include: Le Phare des Baleines the Lighthouse on Ile de Ré which gives you an exceptional view over the Conche des Baleines (Whale Cove) after climbing its 257 steps. Fort Boyard of TV fame which can be visited by boat from La Rochelle old town. La Rochelle Aquarium which is one of the largest aquariums in Europe. Le Zoo de la Palmyre, (Palmyre zoo) with 1600 animals. It is the largest zoo in France where you can meet animals from all over the world.
Ile de Re
Ile de Ré is a captivating island set off the west coast of France next to the city of La Rochelle. Ile de Ré is a chic location with a background of picturesque harbours, restaurants and long white sandy beaches. Cycle paths cover the island and the narrow streets of the 10 villages make foot or bicycle the best way to get around. The island is 19km long and 6km wide and is joined to the mainland by a spectacular 3km bridge which touches down in La Rochelle with its impressive ports and old town just 15 minutes away.
La Flotte en Ré is a very picturesque village situated around an old fishing harbour. There are many cafes and restaurants on the harbour and in the tiny streets of the old town you will find a medieval market open every day of the year.
La Flotte en Ré is steeped in history and has more full time residents than any other village on the island. There is generally a calm atmosphere with classic, authentic island life all around. Next to the harbour is a large sandy beach reached by foot or along the cycle path. La Flotte en Ré is about a 10 minute drive from the bridge to La Rochelle.
