Quiet and private, this home although close to the village square is very spacious (175m2) and was redesigned with large families in mind.

High stone walls ensure privacy. Meals are often taken outdoors, either on the terrace, or under the sheltered "auvent" (seating for 11). Equipped with garden furniture and BBQ.
1) Rental periods consist of stays of one week or more from January 1st to December 31st. Rentals are from Saturday (arrival as of 4pm) to Saturday (departure by noon).
2) For the comfort of all, we have a no smoking policy inside the house
3) Sadly our pet friends are not accepted.
The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Charente Maritime region
The Ile de Ré, with its several ports, many beaches, and low lying, whitewashed communities, has long been popular as a vacation spot for French families.
With the arrival of a causeway in 1988 linking the island to the mainland, the island's inhabitants have tried to manage growth without harming the island's charm and authenticity. Significant restrictions on new construction, and strict standards, have long existed.
The Ile de Re / Sainte-Marie area
The smallness (some 20 miles long and at some locations only yards wide), flatness, and variety (beach, forest, and wildlife) of the island makes it ideal for recreational cycling. It is also popular for sailing, and most water sports.
After a day of sightseeing and sport, many like to finish a summer day with an evening outside at one of the local ports' cafés, watching the boats come in.

Air: EasyJet, ryanair, and flybe all fly in to La Rochelle. Ile de Ré is a 15 minute taxi ride from La Rochelle.
Car: 300 miles south west from Paris (about 4 hours).
Rail: frequent TGV from Paris to La Rochelle (see SNCF website).

I had a great stay with friends here . It is a beautiful spacious and light property with all the charm one would expect of the Ile de Ré . The bedrooms were well considered each with its own personal theme . Everywhere was clean , comfortable and well designed.
The woodburning stove gave warmth and ambiance to evening relaxation after a stroll along the nearby beach which was well within walking distance.
I would fully recommend this holiday let and can't wait to return there myself.
