About the home

There is a main living room of 20m², facing west with a dining area, there is a table, benches and a high chair.
There is a lounge with a convertible sofa, 2 armchairs, a coffee table, a TV, a stereo and a telephone for use only with France Telecom card.
There is a 3.5m² open plan kitchen equipped with 4 electric rings, an electric oven, a micro wave, a dish washer, a 90 litres fridge, a sink and cupboards.
When you enter the villa, there is a 4 m² hallway with cupboards, a washing machine and WC.
The bathroom is 3.30 m² and has a bath and a hand basin.
There is a double bedroom with a 140 cm bed and cupboard.
There are stairs that lead to the mezzanine bedroom area which has 2 single beds (90cm) and is only suitable for children aged approx. maximum 8 to 10, due to a very low ceiling mezzanine (1.10m²).
There is a 40 m² garden equipped with garden table and chairs and a BBQ.
There is a garage and a car park.
You can have access to the residence swimming pool and tennis courts.
Animals are not accepted in this house.

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Charente Maritime region

Situated less than 3km from La Rochelle on the west coast of France, Ile de Re boasts a sunshine record more or less equal to the Côte dâ��Azur on the Mediterranean.

Ile de Re, with a coastline stretching some 70km, is connected to the mainland by an elegant 3km bridge and is made up of ten villages, where the traditional architecture of the region prevails. The little low houses, whitewashed walls, blue or green shutters and a riot of colourful hollyhocks typify this charming island.

To trully apreciate this enchanting island, you need to relax, move down a gear, and leave your car parked up. A network of 87km of flat cycle tracks means that all the family can discover the villages, beaches, forests and salt marshes at a leisurely pace and for the most part, well away from the roads. Little fishing and yacting harbours, village markets, ecomuseums and bird sanctuaries are all easily accessible by bike. There are numerous cycle hire shops with all manner of two and three wheeled inventions to transport even the very young and no hill is over 19m above sea level.

The Ile de Re / La Couarde area

La Couarde-sur-Mer, a charming family resort, boasts an expansive 5km natural fine sandy beach from the Plage des Prises to the Plage des Folies, set against sand dunes and bordered by pines and tamarins. Its many other charms include the village itself, the market, the alleys in which you�ll lose yourself, the bandstand and all sorts of watersports: sailing, beach children clubs and fishing.

There is also a varied cultural choice thanks to La Maline which is an important centre for Rétais culture lovers. La Maline is a collection of 50 different shows and spectacles which take place over the year and include theatre, music, dance and circus.

The market is open Wednesdays and Sundays in the winter and every day in the summer.

With over 100km of cycle tracks to explore on Ile de Re, it is no surprise that there are many cycle hire shops. Here are some at La Couarde:
