Everybody knows the French riviera. Here is the beginning. Hyeres is between Toulon and Saint Tropez. In summer climate is sunny.

Hyeres / Almanare Beach area

The apartment is in a strategic place at the basement of "presqu'ile de giens".
From this place by car you can go to many interesting places.

For example you can go the "port of Hyere" (5 minutes, 3 kilometers) to have a drink or to take a meal in a café or a restaurant. Furthermore you can go to "presqu'iles de giens", a very charming place, just five minutes by car, just after "almanare" beach to see the charming village and very very charming "port du niel".

At "port du niel" if you speak some basic French if you go in morning time between 8 and 9 you can buy fish directly from a fisherman. (I know some of them personally). Fish from this place are of course very very fresh and delicious (Mediterranean fish). You can also do the same thing at the small port or "La madrague" in the North side of "presqu'ile de Giens". From the residence "La madrague" is in front, on the other side of the sea.

There are some restaurant in "Giens"; some of them very famous. There is also a Thai restaurant very near the apartment in the direction of Carqueiranne (great if you like Thai food).
On almare beach you can have a drink in Robinson café or have a meal. You can do Windsurfing also and of course you can swim and enjoy your holiday with sand and sun.

There is one other beach in the other side near the port of Hyere called "La Capte" (10 minutes by car).
You can go walking early in the morning or after 6PM (because sun) on "la Capte beach" or near Almanare beach. You can also go cycling behind almanare beach.
If you have a dog, these beach are a paradise to walk.

In "presqu'iles de giens" you can walk on "santier de randonnée" to see the nature wild and preserved (no cars allowed). This can take half a day or a whole day if you want to take your time and have a picnic . You can do this same plan again a few days later because there are many ways aroud "presqu'iles de Gien", all charming throught the small mountain or near the sea (wild coast). Baskets is enough to do that .

You can also walk to the old town of Hyeres (10 minutes by car), where there are many shops for tourists and also residents. In this place you can buy Wine from any part of France - better quality than in a supermarket. You can also find some food shop very authentic and not for tourist where you can find a good quality of meal. Is not so asy to find a free place for parking but is possible and you have a big parking with admission charges. Shops in Old town is open on Sunday all the years! On saturday morning you have in the main steet of Town of Hyéres a Market. If you take your time you can find very good and organic fruits and vegetables. Also "fromage de chevre" (goat cheese) direct from the farmer.
In may and june you can find local and délicious stawberrys and cherrys. If you want to taste french bread I recomand you "Boulangerie PASTOR" at the botom of avenue Gambeta (Main steet of Hyeres). On Sunday morning you have also a market on Port of Hyeres, is more touristic....
Not so far from the Rayways station of Hyeres near in front of a Coucous restaurant you can taste and buy some wine direct from production in bulk or in bottle. Is an expérience...
From 10 minutes by car from the residence to "la tour fondue" and in this place you can go by ferry (every day, many times) to "Porquerolles" and "Port cros" - very great islands in front of Hyeres. Taking a trip to these very authentic, charming and wild islands is a must. You can have a drink or a meal in Porquerolle. Island of Port cros is nationnal park. If you do that is much beter to go as soon is possible in the morning.

Near port of Hyeres you have also night clubs including a famous one in Carqueiranne (10 minutes by car) named "Le Prosper".

In the port of Hyeres you can rent a boat, you can also make a scuba diving. You have also a "club de plongée" in the small port of "La madrague" which bring you to dive in "presqu'ile de Gien". But the best diving is in Port cros because is Nationnal park .

Supermarket is not so far, you have casino (supermarket) at five minutes by car in two directions, a smaller one which opens on Sunday and closes late near the port of Hyere; a medium size one in the direction of Hyere on the left, and very big super casino at 15 minutes, you have in this area many vegetable production from farmers in direction of Hyeres just afer "Gros pin garden market" and more in direction of Carqueiranne. You have to drive slowly to find them.

In direction of "La Londe" (next city after Hyere) you can find wine production from farmer "cote de provence".
Sorry but we not have production of tea, bring your own ...is certainly better (joke..).

You can move on the name of map whith your mouse and some picture come. If you go on Chapter "Tourism" is also very interesting...

How to get there

Airport of Toulon very near, five minutes by car.
You can find in the airport car hire compagnies and tourist information.
There are no bus from the airport but taxis are not very expensive because the distance is short.

Pets are welcome.

When you book, you have to give 25% of price of renting. If you cancel before three month of the date of coming, your money is coming back, later you lose it.
If the date of renting is less than 3 Month from the reservation you have to give full price. In this case you are confirmed .
