SOUTH ICELAND - HVOLSVOLLUR -

ELDSTÓ ART CAFÉ / GUEST HOUSE is open all year and you can book a room when ever you like, summer, winter, spring or autumn, the cafe is open from May - September every year.

There are 5 rooms for 2-4 people and 2 shared bathrooms, each with a shower. Please go to my other properties to book for more than 2 persons.

NOTE! All rooms have double beds, except one bedroom have also one single bed (this bedroom is for three persons), and then one bedroom has on double bed and another bed witch you can change in to a double bed if needed ( for four people )

A small kitchenette and a sitting room are accessible to guests.

Eldstó is right on the main route and therefore easy to find.Eldstó Art Café is also a Restaurant and a Art gallery with hand thrown pottery made by the owners.

Distance from Eldstó to Kef airport is 140 km, to Reykjavík is 100 km and to the local bus station is just few steps away.

The swimming pool and sauna is only 5 min walk away. 3 min walk to the towns grocery store, gas stations and bank. The bus from Reykjavík stops in Hvolsvöllur near by Eldstó Art Café / Guesthouse

ICELANDIC DESIGN – Art in Clay The couple Thor Sveinsson, potter and G. Helga Ingadóttir singer/pottery artist are the proud owners of Eldstó Art Gallery as well as the Café and Guesthouse. Their appealing applied art creations are glazed with volcanic glaze, made from pumice and other volcanic substances from Mount Hekla and clay from Búðardalur. On our big screen you can see video clips of the artists at work designing and creating original Icelandic handiwork.

The South Iceland region

Iceland is called the land of ice and fire and the South part of the country has the a lot of eruptive under ground. Volcanos like Eyjafjallajökull, Hekla, Vestmannaeyjar, Katla, Magni and Móði are all around in the neighborhood. Also glazers are in the vicinity, Eyjfjallajökull, Mýrdalsjökull, Sólheimajökull and so on. We have waterfalls like Skógarfoss and Seljalandsfoss and endless black beaches. The beauty of the northern lights can be seen and there is a website that predicts about when we can hope to see them.

Hvolsvollur

Next to Eldstó Art Café / Guesthouse are the groceries store, gas station,tourists information and the local swimming pool is also just a few minutes away. The Swimming pool is 30° warm even though it is out site. Jacuzzi and saunas is at the swimmig-pool center.
