La Busneliere is in a very rural situation in south Normandy with beautiful views across the countryside & is the perfect place to go if you want peace & tranquility; we have no near neighbours except for the dairy farm across the road.

The cottage is quite old & rustic; has entrance hall with coat & shoe racks, door to the left into 30m2 kitchen/diner with large beams, open fireplace with woodburner & feature stone wall, door to the right to two bedrooms of 12m2 each & door straight ahead to the 8m2 bathroom.

The 3/4 acre garden has plenty of room for children to play & ample parking space, it has an orchard with approximately 12 apple trees & an old columbage 'Poulallier' (Chicken shed!) there is a large old columbage barn but this is not part of the rental property.

We are situated in a very rural position with little passing traffic & no light pollution in the evening, so shooting stars can often be seen in the night sky.

We are just outside of the village of Husson which is 15 minutes drive south of the town of Mortain.

The accommodation is all on the ground floor & will sleep 4-6 in two bedrooms;

Bedroom 1- 1 double bed

Bedroom 2 (which is accessed through bedroom 1) 2 single beds 1 pull out bed 1 single futon bed, both bedrooms have electric wall heaters.

Large lounge/kitchen/diner with woodburner, two large sofas, dining table seating 8, calor gas cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave, tv with french channels & english freesat, dvd player & selection of dvd's, cd player/radio/Ipod charger, board games, colouring pens, paper for children & selection of books.

There is a fold-up push chair and travel high chair for those with small children, hairdryer, iron, ironing board + washing line behind the barn.

Bathroom with bath & shower over.

Also there is an outside table & chairs to seat 6, trampoline, in the garage on the side of the barn we have table-tennis & air-hockey table, tennis raquets & balls, football, we also have bikes for you to use as there is a greenway approx 3km away for cycling/walking.

The Basse-Normandie region

Normandy is a holiday location to suit all tastes, from beautiful Honfleur in the north to historic Mont St Michel in the west, it has castles, chateaux, historic buildings, towns & villages with their traditional markets, rugged coastlines, sunny beaches, forests, lush countryside.

Normandy is of course famous for it's cheeses - Camembert, Livarot, Neufchâtel and Pont l’Évêque, it's also famous for apples, cider, calvados, & particularly famous in our area is the wonderful Poire, a very refreshing pear cider, there are many places near to us where all these are made & sold on the premises.

To see & do in the area;

Go Karting.- about 15 mins away; Karting du Mortainais at la Le Neufbourg, just outside Mortain. Tel 00 33 (0)2 33 59 60 33

(advice- do go & see them at the track or phone to book as age restrictions apply- they don't allow adults & children to race together & it may depend on the size of the child as to whether they deem them to be adult or child) They do speak quite good english & the track is very good!

Swimming- outdoor pool in Mortain 15 mins away & leisure Centre in St Hilaire du Harcouet, 20 mins away, also large leisure centre Aquavire in Vire approx 40mins away.

Cycling- Bike hire at Le Neufbourg on the road to Vire, (the Peugeot Garage) 00 33 (0)2 33 59 00 14 open Mon-Sat 9.00-12.30 & 14.00-19.00. Advise to take passport as identification for bike hire. You can join the the cycle path direct from the cycle hire shop.

"Wonderful cottage, location and neighbourhood"

Had a wonderful stay in an idyllic location. Great and easy access to a variety of towns and attractions. The cottage is charming and the neighbouring farmers are very friendly, we even got to watch their herd of cows being milked!
