Home description

Welcome to our well equipped self contained one level apartment. Sample real Spain from the comfort of our modern spacious apartment, away from the madding crowds, but only 10 mins drive from the E15 motorway. Book 2 weeks now for 2010 and get third week at half price.

A lovely bright, clean, comfortable and modern apartment where you can start to relax straight away. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the countryside from the private patio / terrace, where you can eat alfresco well into the evening.

If you are seeking a peaceful relaxing holiday in the Spanish countryside but with towns, beaches, secluded coves, golf courses and nightlife just a short drive away you need look no further. This is an ideal location for walking, house hunting, bird watching, ( we are on a migratory route) golfing, fishing, site seeing or simply relaxing.

The apartment is south facing, at the base of a small mountain just outside a tiny village where there is a Church, just one shop and a fuente where you can collect your own fresh springwater if desired.

A swimming pool is available just a short walk down the lane at the local bar/ restaurant.

The Costa de Almeria region

Costa de Almeria is reported to be one of the healthiest places in the world to live. It provides much of the fruit and vegetables for the rest of Europe, most of which is grown in the plastic greenhouses you will see dotted about the region.

There are many interesting places to visit such as the Alhambra Palace in Granada, the cave houses in Cuevas del Almanzora, the small fishing village with its harbour in Villaricos, the lively seaside town of Mojacar with its 30 kilometers of beaches or the quieter beaches of San Juan, the water park at Vera and Mini Hollywood where many wild west films have been made.


Huercal-Overa / Taberno area

Taberno is a quiet little town where the traditional way of life continues. The meandering streets with their picturesque whitewashed houses partialy conceal the lovely old Church, the butchers shop, the grocery store, and traditional bakery. There are also two banks, a pharmacy,a tobacconist, and traditional restaurant and bars.
There is also a swimming pool and a small Museum which is well worth a visit.

Huercal Overa is a busy town with several supermarkets, banks, post office, tobaconists, bars and restaurants serving local and international food. A variety of other shops in the town will supply most of your needs. There is a cinema and a theatre, a leisure centre with swimming pool and a very small mini zoo.

The centuries old bull ring is still in use and a popular event for the local community. The street market is a regular attraction for everyone each Monday.

Most low cost airlines fly into one of the local airports which are Almeria, Mercia and Alicante.

Almeria being the closest to the property being only one and a quarter hours away by motorway.
Mercia airport is aprox one and a half hours away, by toll road to Pulpi then motorway to Huercal Overa.
Alicante airport is aprox two hours away by motorway.

We particularly like Monarch who take good care of you.

There are several car hire companies at the airports, but it is usualy cheaper to book your car at the same time as your flight.

The lounge area has a two seater settee, double sofa bed, coffee tables, storage unit, DVD player, video, Hi Fi , a stand fan and a desk fan. All the windows are fitted with fly screens. We have a selection of DVDs and Video's.
Heating is supplied for the cooler months.

The kitchen/dining area has table and four chairs a full complement of crockery, cutlery, drinking glasses and cooking utensils.There is also a washing machine, a full size cooker with extraction hood, fridge/freezer, electric kettle, microwave oven and a toaster.

Bedroom:
The bright and airy bedroom has two comfortable single beds, bedside units, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. There is also a travel cot for our smaller guests.

Patio/Terrace
The private patio has a table,seating for 4, sunshade, 2 sun loungers and a BBQ. The patio overlooks both the garden and the vast expanse of olive and almond groves.

Orange and lemon trees are also in view as are the small villages and mountains around us. The local sheep and goats can be seen being taken to graze, and our neighbour with his donkey and goats regularly pass by.

A bottle of Rioja table wine awaits you on arrival with our compliments.

Although towels are provided, these are not for use at the beach or swimming pools.
Cool boxes, beach umberellas and beach towels are available if you require them, just ask.

Our own house is directly behind the apartment and we are available for any help, information, or advice if required.


Conditions

Refundable breakage/damage deposit of £100 is required on arrival to be returned after inspection of the property on the day of departure.
