About the home
The Almond House is an original farm cottage set amongst acres of almond and olive groves that has been beautifully restored to a very high standard throughout. The spacious en-suite bedrooms are furnished with traditional, stylish pieces and retain many original features. The comfortable living room with dvd and ipod facilities leads through to a fully equipped open plan kitchen and dining area with a wood burning stove for those chillier evenings. The outside dining room room and private courtyard leading up to the pool and terraces are ideal for al fresco eating.
Perfect for those looking to escape you need do nothing more than lie by the pool during the day and star gaze at night. - Our magnificent night skies, amongst the clearest in Spain, are the perfect back drop for a romantic evening. For the more active guests the countryside around The Almond House offers the opportunty to walk amongst wild rosemary and thyme, through valleys and along goat trails, observing the natural wildlife of the area.
We also now have our bespoke air conditioned gym available for our guests private use. Book personal training sessions with our professionally qualified PT in advance and reduce great discounts and after your workout indulge in a therapeutic massage - all available at the Almond House.

Long weekend and mid - week breaks available
On your arrival you will find chilled wine and other regional goodies to get your Spanish holiday started. A small farm shop providing local and home produced products including fresh eggs from our latest arrivals. Evening meals and picnics are available at the farmhouse. A cooler box, picnic ware and a beach umbrella are available. New for 2013 We are offering a menu of delicious home cooked dishes that are cooked to order and delivered to your table.

Conditions
As this is a rural farmhouse with horses, cats, dogs and chickens so we are unable to accept guests with pets
No smoking allowed in the property
A refundable damage deposit of €150 is required on arrival, to be refunded on the day of your departure subject to a satisfactory inspection
30% of rental fee is required to confirm your reservation with the balance due 6 weeks before your arrival
The property is not suitable for young children

In this forgotten corner of Andalucia there is the opportunity to explore mountains, lakes, beaches, historic towns and spectacular countryside.
The sparkling beaches, quiet coves and traditional beach bars of the beautiful, unspoilt resort of San Juan de Los Terreros are perfect to spend a lazy day enjoying the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean. Further down the coast are the lively resorts of Mojacar and Garrucha with almost 30kms of sandy beaches, typical beach bars and stylish, cosmopolitan restaurants. All of these beaches are within a 40 minute drive of The Almond House. Head further inland, through beautiful rural landscapes, to the historic towns of Velez Rubio and Velez Blanco, the gateway to the Sierra Maria - Los Velez national Park.
Within a 90 minute drive you can enjoy the delights of the lakes at Baza and half an hour more will take you to the beautiful, historic city of Granada with its stunning Alhambra.
Our enviable climate really does make this an all year destination
The Huercal-Overa / Taberno area
The thriving agricultural town of Huercal - Overa with its lively Monday market is 12 km away. Here you will find supermarkets, banks, a post office and a variety of shops to suit your needs. There are some great bars and traditional restaurants serving local and international cuisine. In October the town celebrates a 5 day fiesta with music and dancing, fairground rides and plenty of food and drink! December sees the main town square transformed back to olden days for a medieval market selling artisan products and traditional food
The Almond House enjoys a completely rural setting, but the picturesque village of Taberno with its authentic Spanish restaurants and bars, a traditional bakery, butchers, grocery stores, banks and a pharmacy is just 6kms away.
Every weekend in August one local village or another celebrates their own fiesta in true Spanish style with everybody welcome.
