About this location
The Prachuap Khiri Khan Province region
Hua Hin is a quiet beach getaway long favoured by Thais and is quickly gaining popularity among international visitors.
Although Phuket and Koh Samui are better known internationally, Hua Hin has been the favourite beach getaway amongst Thais for almost a century.
King Rama VII, who built Klai Kangwon Palace in 1928, established the town as a royal retreat. The quiet fishing village was turned into a resort and subsequently became enormously popular with aristocratic and wealthy Thais. Later, a railway line from Bangkok was constructed to allow better accessibility for the general public.
Today, Hua Hin is a small yet vibrant beach town that features a remarkable number of world-class golf courses, and fabulous local food. It's only a three-hour drive from Bangkok and so close enough as a weekend getaway. The preferred beach resort for today's wealthier middle-class Thais.
In Hua hin you can enjoy many events and festivals all year long
Every in late August/early September the King's Cup Elephant Polo Tournament comes to town, with international teams coming from as far away as Sri Lanka and Europe. The event, which raises money for the National Elephant Institute, also includes parades and other festivities. In June, the Hua Hin Jazz Festival is two nights of local and international talent on several city and beach stages, hotel and street entertainment. This year the Hua Hin Jazz Festival is postponed for 20-22 June 2014 due to the Thailand ongoing political situation and in March the skies fill with colorful kites at the annual Kite Festival.
It is one of the best location in Hua-Hin with white crystal sand beach. Surrounded by Let's sea and worabura resort and spa. 10 minutes walk to Khao Takiab temple, access to a number of restaurants i.e. Wilanwan [(website hidden)] 3 minutes walking away. 5 minutes drive from the Bangkok Hospital, Market Village [(website hidden)_en.aspx] and central Hua Hin and just 200 meters from the beach front,
