The Central Thailand/Bangkok region

Hua Hin and the neighbouring town of Cha-am are best described as small sleepy seaside resort towns. They are to Bangkok what Brighton is to London or the Hamptons are to New York. Initially for the rich and famous, the area flourished with the expansion of the railways giving access to the masses. Being only 2 to 3 hours drive down the Gulf of Thailand, the towns offer a close retreat of sharp contrast to the hustle of Thailand's capital and as such their personalities change as the hordes arrive at weekends with many hotels being full. Hua Hin has the added credibility of being the favoured resort of the Thai royal family; indeed the current king spends much of his time in residence there.

Hua Hin

With over half a dozen courses dotted around the town, Hua Hin is a golfers' paradise and many just come to play day-in and day-out. All the courses are well maintained as one has come to expect in Thailand. The closest to the town is Royal Hua Hin Golf Course just behind the railway station in the town centre and was Thailand's first golf course. Others include the 27 hole Lakeview, which has its own hotel so addicts need not stray far, the Jack Nicklaus-designed Springfield Royal Country Club, Palm Hills, just 15 minutes from Hua Hin, Majestic Creek and Bangkok Milford. Green fees are a real bargain and the fairways are never busy although weekends are more crowded. Guests staying on the course usually enjoy significant discounts on playing fees.

"Great location, wonderful surroundings in a safe secure little village"

Hui Hin was a great place to stay with plenty to do. The accommodation was good with 5 different bedrooms all fitted with air conditioning which was needed while there as the temperature was 30 degrees at night. the kitchen was well equipped with fridge / freezer, cooker and all the utensils that you required

"Great place for large groups who need seclusion rather than a lot of bars around them."

This place was great for our group, since we had 3 couples, one couple had a baby, and each group had plenty of space. Not so far from Hua Hin centre and there is a little mom & pop convenience store … More

Dear Bradley & family

Thank you for taking the time to review, we are pleased to hear your views, and happy that everything went to plan for you.

In response to the fees, we do include these in the quote so they are not normally a surprise, but we can be more careful to check people are aware of them. Sometimes the fees can be absorbed for longer rental periods but the short ones always carry the additional fees

"Excellent Stay"

A large group of 9 of us stayed here for 2 weeks and had a really good holiday. The villa is very well equipped and has everything you need. We were a bit worried about so many of us sharing the same space but it was definitely large enough to cater for 9 adults, we even had a spare bedroom. We had a problem with the swimming pool on one of our days but after a short email it was resolved quickly. The villa was very secure with good security on the front gate and had fast wifi. Overall it was excellent value for money and I would highly recommend a stay here. I would definitely return if I was ever in the area.

Thank you for the review, we are glad it was a goor trip for you and our villa was up to expectations.
Come again we would love to have you stay again...Martin & Lindsay

"Spacious family villa"

Nice spacious villa on a gated complex with other villas, Nice garden and pool area, nine of us stayed and it never felt overly crowded. Ten to fifteen minutes by tuck tuck to main bars & restaurants.… More

Thank you for the review. we are glad you pointed out the goodpoints of the villa. We feel that the scoring for some items were lower than they needed to be. Whilst we accept that one or two items were not up to spec, taken in the context of a 13 bed villa, finding one or two cleaning 'issues' did not deserve the low scores in some ares that you gave. If we had not responded to them immediately we would agree that the score were correct, but unfortunately you dont tell the whole story about allowing the cleaning staff to come and rectify the one or two issues.

"Great Villa Layout suited the whole family (11) -"

The versatile layout of the property meant we could enjoy being together as a family, yet still enjoy our own space. The villa is situated on a secure estate for peace of mind, however it is situated a 5-10min trip to the main town/restaurants.We had a large car for the 4 weeks, which was great as it allowed us to see other towns and find new beaches. Have a go at driving in Thailand, its not as bad as you think.Tuk tuks/taxis to and from town were only about £3-4, you can get 6 in some, so its still very cheap to get around. We ate in a couple of times getting food from the foodstalls, less than £2 a head. Mostly we ate out, wine can be very expensive in some restaurants, check first if you enjoy a glass or two. Being on a private estate, it could get quite busy with pool men/hedge and grass trimmers/gardeners coming and going to all the properties. The wi-fi signal was weak, so be aware if you are planning to spend a lot of time on line. Transfers for parts of our group to Bangkok all worked well. Martin and Lindsay were by coincidence in HuaHin while we were there, so it was nice to meet them and have a chat over a drink as you do.
It it the Thai people however who make a trip to that part of the world so worthwhile, and we certainly hope to be travelling that way before too long and will try and book the villa again as a short stopover or another extended stay.
