The Central Thailand/Bangkok region

Bangkok is the capital and the most populous city of Thailand. It's many World Class Restaurants, Shops, Entertainment and Cultural Attractions will dazzle even the most seasoned tourist. It's a great place to start your "Amazing Thailand" Holiday.

Grab a train, bus, or taxi from Bangkok, (or many other places in Thailand), and head to the beach resort town of Hua Hin.

Hua Hin

Hua Hin is in the northern part of the Malay Peninsula, some 200 km south of Bangkok. It. is becoming a popular destination for tourist because it too has many fine restaurants, shops, and attractions; such as Klai Kangwon Palace, Maruekhathayawan Palace, Panee Butterfly Farm and Hua Hin Railway Station to name a few. Kite Surfing lessons, massage on the beaches and various International competitive sporting events also tend to attract the more active and adventuresome travelers.

You can then travel 30 km south to Pranburi and Pak Nam Pran for fun at a more relaxed pace. If you decide to stop at the vineyards, one of the two floating markets and/or the waterpark on the way we'll wait. Save the Elephant camp and hikes for tomorrow...

The Local Area: Pranburi and Pak Nam Pran have there own small town ambience:

Local bars and restaurants are delightful and inexpensive. Kite surfing and lessons, watercraft rentals, endless miles of breath taking scenery on beaches, dirt roads as well as paved roads welcome watersports, walkers, hikers, bicyclists and motor tourist. Be sure to visit: Khao Kalok Beach, Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park and Pranburi Forest Park. All are located in the vicinity and can be reached with ease.

Go to the Pranburi Forest Park, (early is better), and look for peacocks as you marvel at the enormity of the solid, (Granite?) hills and wind down to the marshy home of Water Monitors and other incredible wildlife & creatures before you enter the park. This is best done by bicycle or motorbike however, It will make a nice drive too.

I bicycle trough this area and may add some links to maps if I can figure it out. This is a great place to cycle...
