The Central Thailand/Bangkok region
The province of Prajuab Kirikhan is home to sophisticated towns like Hua Hin which is host to many famous events such as: Hua Hin Ballooing Festival, Hua Hin International Kite Festival, Hua Hin Kite Boarding World Cup, Hua Hin International Cricket Sixes, the Honda Summer Festival, Hyatt Open Golf Tournament, Hua Hin Jazz Festival, Hua Hin Regatta, Hua Hin Golf Festival, King's Cup Elephant Polo Tournament, Hua Hin Seafood Festival,Hua Hin Bike Week, Hua Hin Horse Festival, Black Mountain Masters and the Hua Hin Vintage Car Parade to name but a few .
It is also home to some breathtaking scenery from the peaks of the Samroiyod National Marine park through the mangrove forests of the Pranburi Forest Park to the myriad of sparkling clear water beaches along the stunning coastline Hua Hin Beach . There are attractions ranging from Elephant trekking to ATV hire but the principle activity in the region would undoubtedly be golf. At the last count there are over 15 international courses within an hours drive of the villa (with Eagle Milford being next door!) If you love golf but your family does not - no problem you can drop the kids off at the black mountain water park whilst you enjoy a round of golf at the top flight Black Mountain golf course next door!
Of Course with the region being blessed with a long golden beach coastline watersport options are almost endless!
Other attractions in the region include: Huay Mongkol Temple, Klai Kang Won Palace, (being restored at present) Hutsadin Elephant Foundation, Hua Hin Railway station, Suan Son Pradipat Beach, Pala-U waterfall (especially in the rainy season) Khao Hin Lek Fai,
Wat Khao Krailas temple, Kui Buri National Park, Wat Tang Sai Temple, Ao Manao, Koh Talu Island, Chopsticks Hill Kao Takib.
The area between Hua Hin and the Samroiyod national park could lay claim to be the pineapple capitol of the world.
Turn off the main roads and soon you will find yourself driving through huge pineapple plantations. If you go there in the late afternoon or early evening you will be able to see peacocks coming down out of the hills.
The coastline here is beautiful and also bountiful. You can enjoy fantastic seafood at very reasonable prices. There are a seemingly endless choice of seafood restaurants in the area
.If long walks on deserted beaches or treks through mangrove forests is not enough action for you maybe check out:
Sky Club Paramotor in Hua Hin, or Hua Hin Bike tours. There are also bike hire facilities and many (mostly beach based) ATV rental places.
If you fancy getting out on the water try Siam Pearl Cruises, or Mermaid Cruises. if you prefer something a little more back to reality you can hire a local fishing boat to maybe take you out to one of the nearby islands for a seafood BBQ or take one of the mangrove boat trips. Don't miss the river Pran trip where you can see huge lizards and the never completed Pranburi Airport.
No trip to Thailand would be complete without a visit to the unbiquetous Spas. There are so many options it is impossible to any justice with a list. However, Chiva Som Spa, Blue Ocean Spa, White Sand Massage & Spa would be good places to start.
Bars there are a plenty in the area and only a few are of the 'girlie' variety. Great if you are on a family holiday.
