House | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 6
What makes Maison Torekov a great holiday rental?
> Quiet village location yet just a few minutes to the beaches of Hossegor & Seignosse
> Superb secluded terrace, gardens and large pool
> Tennis centre in the village
> Hossegor has a very 'cool' vibe with great surfing beaches, shopping, lagoon, casino & golf,
> Toddlers - quiet street, good size garden
> Teenagers - good for access to Hossegor and the surf. Plus the village has a big tennis centre
> Reduced mobility - ground floor bedroom and bathroom but reasonable slope to the house
Torekov has an uncluttered, laid-back style, tiled floors for a cool interior, good facilities plus a lovely garden and pool. It's an ideal villa for a family summer holiday.
The main entrance to the side of the house leads into a utility area (with washing machine and storage for surfboards, wetsuits, etc) which in turn leads into the kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with the main essentials; the room itself is relatively small and there is space to eat in the living area or outside on one of the terraces.
The living area is spacious and cool with tired floors and benefits from triple French doors leading to the garden/decked terrace and to the pool/terrace. The lounge has ample seating.
At ground floor level there is a bedroom and shower room with WC. The room has a double bed and large wardrobe.
A wooden, open-tread staircase leads from the living area to the first floor accommodation. On the first floor are two upstairs bedrooms with low sloping roofs but are nonetheless spacious. Each has a sky-light. One bedroom has a double bed 180cm and the other has two double beds, each 180cm. There is another shower room with WC too.

The nearest main town is the surfing and golfing mecca of Hossegor (5 kms). This is an area dominated by its landscape of ocean, lakes and pine forests, creating one big outdoor playground!

Golf de Seignosse
A water and forest monster of a course ranked in Continental Europe’s Top 50! Very welcoming clubhouse with a restaurant and bar (serving meals midday-5pm each day) with fabulous views of the course from the terrace. The course hotel serves excellent, more formal à la carte meals in the evening.
4kms to the west are the continuous beaches les Estagnots, Bourdaines and le Penon. It's a mostly residential area with a number of holiday homes and apartments. The architecture is not especially attractive but it's the lovely sandy coastline that draws visitors. Popular with surfers and families, the beaches are superb. There are seasonal shops, a bit of nightlife and a Water Park.
Hossegor & Capbreton
Capbreton and Hossegor are neighbouring seaside towns which between them offer an appealing contrast. Hossegor is the more famous, largely through its surfing heritage. It's a 'feelgood' place offering boutique shopping, great bars and restaurants, world-famous surfing beaches, casino, and a lovely golf course and a beautiful lake for safe bathing and sailing. Capbreton lives in the shadow of Hossegor but it's the place the locals prefer for eating out and for beaches. It's definitely the more authentic of the two, largely because of its fishing port and daily fish market. In fact, the town thrived in the 19th century as a whaling port and this sea-faring heritage is still very much apparent today. It also has a charming town centre and market. Capbreton sea-front is a bustling place, day and evening. You can walk all the way along the marina and sea-front. The jetty, known locally as l'estacade, offers excellent coastal views. There's normally a few locals here trying to catch a fish for supper. It makes for great viewing!
